Llegamos a Berlín el día 22 por la mañana (el concierto era el 25) esa misma noche a las 12 y pico y Meri y yo fuimos a inspeccionar el sitio del concierto para ver cuanto tardábamos en llegar desde el hotel y ver que cosas había por ahí cerca. Nos estuvimos haciendo fotos ahí y en el Columbia Halle que estaba al lado (para rememorar viejos tiempos XD)

Estábamos a unos 20 minutos del hotel y por allí no había ninguna tienda cerca ni donde ir al baño

Al día siguiente en vez de empezar a hacer cola por la tarde como hacemos en todos los conciertos, decidimos empezar a hacerla por la mañana para asegurarnos de ser las primeras, porque como estábamos en Alemania y allí las colas son siempre problemáticas…

Llegamos allí a las 9 y pico de la mañana, que alegría nos llevamos al ver que éramos las primeras. Y empezamos a planear lo de la lista que había funcionado muy bien en Paris y Milán, aunque no estábamos muy seguras si con las alemanas eso funcionaria. Nos apuntamos nosotras y a otra amiga nuestra que aun se estaba pensando el venir o no. Estábamos ahí entretenidas haciendo el idiota, contando las bicis que pasaban por el carril bici (que por cierto eran muchísimas XD) y hacíamos sesiones de fotos con historia

Y a eso de las 11 mi amiga se fue a Neo Tokyo que era la hora a la que abrían, yo iba a ir después cuando ella volviera (no podíamos dejar nuestro puesto en la cola) es que el día anterior cuando llegamos por la tarde a la tienda ya estaba cerrada

Y mientras yo estaba ahí sola, de repente se abrió la puerta de la sala y salio un tío con un perro y me pregunto que si estaba haciendo cola para el concierto de Diru (y eso que el día antes de Diru había otro concierto allí, pero me debió ver la camiseta de Diru que llevaba puesta), le dije que si y el me dijo que el concierto anterior que hubo en la sala (digo yo que seria el de Despairs) hubo gente que hizo 6 días de cola (no sabia si creerle o no). Así que aproveche que abría para pedirle que me dejara entrar al baño de la sala, cuando acabe fui a mirar las vitrinas de los posters de los conciertos porque desde fuera ví que estaba el poster de Diru (el mismo que había en el escaparate de Neo Tokyo) pero resulta que había desaparecido justo en ese momento, me quedé toda extrañada, y entonces veo al tío que viene con el poster en la mano para regalármelo y yo ahhhhhh que guay, XDD y le pedí que me dejara entrar dentro para examinar la sala (ya esta la pesada de Aya otra vez investigando las salas de los conciertos jeje) y oohh que decepción me lleve, que mierda de sala, un escenario pequeño y penoso, y una sala que cabían 4 gatos y super cutre (que luego resulto que cabían 800 personas, pues no se como coño cabía tanta gente allí) y el tío me dijo que las entradas estaban agotadas y de paso le pregunte que si la puerta que abrían era esa de la derecha para asegurarme. Así que me salí fuera otra vez a la cola mas feliz que unas castañuelas con mi poster de Diru y habiendo visto la sala y alegrándome de haber empezado a hacer cola tan temprano jeje

Al rato el mismo tío de la sala volvió a salir y me regalo un montón de zumos (le debí caer bien al tío, después del concierto también nos regalo cosas, pero solo nos daba cosas a nosotras y no a las alemanas, que raro porque el tío era alemán, pero le debíamos caer bien las 2 españolitas que estábamos ahí jeje)

Cuando llego mi amiga le conté todo y la tía flipando, y de repente el tío de la sala volvió a salir y le regaló otro poster a ella, ahora si que estábamos las 2 flipando, ni siquiera se los habíamos pedido!!!

Ya eran las tantas de la tarde y no aparecía ninguna fan, nos pareció muy extraño porque normalmente a esas horas siempre hay mas gente, y casi de noche vinieron 2 alemanas, les dijimos lo de la lista con miedo a que nos mandaran a la mierda, pero las tías se apuntaron aunque me dijeron que seguro que lo de la lista seria un fracaso, porque pocos días antes en otra ciudad de Alemania en otro concierto de Diru la cola fue un caos.

Le dije a mi amiga que nos turnáramos las noches, una cada una, las 2 chicas alemanas se fueron a dar una vuelta y mi amiga y yo conocimos a un holandés que se paso muchísimo rato ahí hablando con nosotras sobre muchos temas variados y hasta nos hizo fotos y se aprendió nuestros nombres, (y se le notaba que quería ligar con mi amiga jeje) así que mas tarde me quedé yo sola allí a dormir con las otras 2 chicas alemanas, como no me había llevado la colchoneta de playa que me compre para la cola de Milán, tuve que tirarme encima de la esterilla que no sabia como ponerme porque me dolía tol cuerpo de lo duro que estaba el suelo, hizo un poco de frió, aunque tenia cosas para abrigarme, me tape hasta la cabeza y ahí me quedé viendo pasar las horas, porque para variar no pude dormir en toda la noche y encima a las 4:30 de la mañana sale el sol (joder aquí también como en Italia!!! ay que países mas raros. A eso de las 6 empezó a llegar mas gente, y lo que me jodio fue que en vez de seguir la cola plantaron la manta delante de la puerta y eso no me gusto porque ese era nuestro territorio. Les dije lo de la lista y por suerte también se apuntaron. A la mañana siguiente eran casi las 10 y Meri aun no había venido y yo necesitaba ir al baño urgentemente!!!

Cuando llego ella me fui un par de horas al hotel a ducharme y cambiarme de ropa, aunque al llegar allí me metí en internet (que descubrí que era gratis) y así pasé el rato leyendo los foros de Diru y escribiendo en ellos. Me duche y me volví a la cola, ya había mas gente, pero nadie ponía pegas a lo de la lista, es mas esto no fue como en Paris o Milán, las alemanas son mas honestas y solo se apuntaban ellas mismas y a sus amigas que iban a venir ese mismo día, y no querían apuntar a sus amigas que iban a venir al día siguiente. Y encima una de ellas dijo de apuntarnos los números en la mano, y así cada vez que venia alguien mi amiga y yo nos acercábamos con la lista y el rotulador (que luego decidimos poner una copia de la lista en la pared para que todo el mundo la viera). Y yo llevaba el nº 1 escrito y mi amiga el 2 (que ilusión nos hacia vernos esos números jeje) No os podéis imaginar que poderosas nos sentíamos siendo las dueñas y señoras de la organización de la cola en el país mas jodido para organizar colas de Diru. Lo que no me gustaba es que la gente no hiciera una fila, si no que cada vez que llegaba gente se amontonaban con sus mantas en la zona delante de la puerta, pero bueno como estaba mas que claro que había un orden establecido allí, ya no importaba tanto donde se pusieran. Y como encima éramos las primeras nos podíamos permitir el lujo de salir las 2 de la cola a la vez y dar vueltas por los alrededores, igual que hacia el resto de la gente que se iban un rato por ahí y dejaban todo allí en la cola y su hueco sin nadie

Esa noche había un concierto, un tal Chris Cornell que nadie de las que estábamos allí sabía quién era jeje. Y sobre las 8 empezó a venir gente al concierto y los de la sala nos hicieron recoger todas nuestras cosas e irnos un poco mas lejos para no estorbar, pero aun así nos quedamos cerca y entonces apareció nuestro amigo el holandés que venia a ver el concierto y allí nos quedamos hablando con el, y encima conocimos un tío argentino que no tenia entrada y quería colarse en el concierto porque siempre hacia lo mismo a todos los que iba jeje. Así que hablamos con los 2 y mi amiga intento ayudarle al argentino a colarse dentro yendo por la puerta donde entran los buses de los grupos. Total que aquello empezó a las 8 y eran mas de las 12 y aun no había acabado la cosa y yo estaba hasta los huevos porque me quería ir al hotel a lavarme el pelo (que me cuesta 200 horas) y se me iba a hacer muy tarde, pero no me podía ir de allí porque teníamos que volver a apoderarnos de nuestro sitio en la cola, que como he dicho antes no había problemas con el orden, pero aun así queríamos seguir pegadas a la puerta y que no nos quitaran ese trozo de suelo. Así que acabo el concierto y empezó a salir la gente y salieron nuestros 2 amigos y hablamos con ellos y nos hicimos fotos y luego cuando salio tol mundo nos lanzamos como posesas a nuestra zona y las alemanas ahí como locas lanzándose también a coger sitio pegadas a la puerta, daban miedo XD

Así que como ya estábamos con nuestras cosas situadas me fui al hotel, joder necesitaba dormir porque como la noche anterior no dormí ni un minuto en la cola…pero como era tan tarde y entre que me lave, sequé y planche el pelo me fui a la cama a las 3:30 y allí como a las 4:30 entraba tol sol por la ventana y no había persianas casi no pude dormir, aunque bueno lo poco que dormí tuve un sueño con Die jeje, en el que él me veía ahí esperando su bus y se bajaba y venia todo sonriente a hacerse una foto conmigo porque como en Paris no se la hizo… (estuvo bien el sueño ese jeje)

Y al día siguiente me fui pronto a la cola y cuando llegue allí teníamos 2 bocadillos y 2 zumos que me dijo Meri que nos los había traído nuestro amigo holandés (oohhh que tío mas majo) ella se fue al hotel para vestirse ya con la ropa que llevaría a la firma que era a las 15:00 y allí me quedé yo esperando a que Diru llegara porque tenía el presentimiento de que llegarían pronto por la mañana. Y sobre las 10 y pico ví aparecer el bus por la calle, y muchas de las otras fans lo tenían ahí delante y ni sabían que era el bus de Diru XD. Me subí en el muro para verlos y otras fans me vieron e hicieron lo mismo, y allí rato y rato viendo el autobús aparcado y Diru sin salir de el ni a tiros, estábamos ya aburridas de esperarles y encima se puso a llover pero por suerte había tejadillo y casi no nos mojábamos, en esto llego Meri y se subio al muro también y veíamos salir a los roadies de Diru y a los del staff, pero Diru seguía desaparecido en combate jeje, el mismo tío del staff que nos dio pizza de Diru en París, nos trajo también pizza del bus (que al igual que la de París estaba asquerosa, joder pero que mierda de pizzas le compran a Diru jaja) Y por fin empezó a salir Dir en Grey, como siempre uno cada muchos minutos, ví a todos salir, les intente hacer fotos pero fue difícil porque los seguratas nos hicieron bajar del muro y desde abajo solo podíamos verlos a través de un trocito pequeño de verja que había en el muro y encima ahí agachadas que me estaban doliendo los riñones, eran casi las 12 y yo tenia que irme al hotel para cambiarme con la ropa del concierto y para ir ya a la firma pero es que Toshiya aun no había salido del bus y yo no me iba a ir de allí sin verle. Por cierto Kaoru, Shinya y Toshiya entraron al recinto por unas escaleras de caracol que bajaban hacia abajo ahí en medio del suelo, y sin embargo Die y Kyo les vimos salir del bus e ir por otro lado (2 días mas tarde a las 12 y pico de la noche descubrimos por donde se metieron porque nosotras nos metimos por allí jeje)

Y por fin salio el señorito, lastima que las fotos que le hice no se le veía la cara porque iba tapado con la capucha, aunque una de las alemanas le hizo una foto que se le veía guapísimo, y yo ahí venga a babear viendo la foto, claro eso no vale la tía llevaba una cámara de las grandes y buenas y yo ahí con mi cutre cámara que tardaba un siglo en salir el flash no me daba tiempo de hacer buenas fotos a Diru, que rabia.

Pues era ya casi las 13:00 y las dos nos fuimos al hotel a ducharnos y cambiarnos de ropa e irnos ya a la firma que estaba en la otra punta de la ciudad, como no había problema porque se quedaban chicas en la cola, nos podíamos ir sin preocuparnos

Cogimos varios metros y llegamos al centro comercial sobre las 2 y pico, y aquello era el caos, ni cola ni nada, un montón de fans ahí amontonadas delante de la mesa de Diru sin orden alguno, y a lo que llegamos éramos de las últimas pero no importaba porque sabíamos que habría tiempo para que nos firmaran, y llegó Diru y empezaron a firmar 15 minutos antes de lo previsto, y detrás de ellos había una pantalla grande donde estaban poniendo videos suyos, y a las 15:30 mas o menos no iba llegando el turno, que cogí a Meri y nos colamos mas adelante, ahí había una cinta separando a la masa de fans de las que iban pasando a la mesa, que nervios estábamos ahí esperando y los teníamos tan cerca y mientras les hacíamos fotos, y fuimos pasando y acercándonos a la mesa, había 2 tíos controlando a la gente, yo iba con mis 2 Uroboros (el mío versión japonesa y el otro versión europea que era para un amigo mío) y Meri con el que se compro en Neo Tokyo y con la entrada para que se la firmaran también.

Cuando me toco pasar el tío me dijo que solo firmaban 1 cosa así que fingí meterme un CD en el bolsillo (planeando por si acaso sacar siempre 1º mi versión japonesa que era la que mas me interesaba que me firmaran en caso de que solo me firmaran uno, es que idiota de mi se me olvido llevarme de casa el DVD The Rose Trims Again edición limitada que quería que me lo firmaran) Y ahí estaba Nora al lado de ellos, estaban por orden sentados Die, Kyo, Kaoru, Toshiya y Shinya (todos llevaban gafas de sol excepto Kyo) y en que llegue delante de Die le dije “hello” y le puse delante los 2 cds me sonrió me saludo y me firmo los 2, y le dije “thanks” (cada vez que me ponía delante de cada uno de ellos les decía hello y luego thanks) y luego pase a Kyo y oohhhh dios mío!!!! me saludo y me sonrió, pero es que no os podéis imaginar, Kyo sonriéndome todo el rato con una carita super mona ahhh que fuerte (yo creo que alguien les debió decir algo de que pusieran cara de alegría porque como la gente les criticó que en Paris estaban muy serios, y sin embargo aquí estaban los 5 super felices) bueno y yo ahí embobada por que el antisocial Kyo me había saludado y me sonreía, pero…el muy ca*** me dijo que solo firmaba 1 CD, y yo ahí me pegue un buen rato tratando de convencerle para que me firmara el otro también, y el venga que no y venga a volver la cara para otro lado, me quedé toda chafada, encima me había firmado solo el CD versión europea (horror me jodio la cosa, porque mi prioridad era el CD japonés, que torpe fui tenia que haberle dado 1º ese y mira que lo tenia planeado pero el tío con su sonrisa me despisto buahhh buahhh) así que pase a Kaoru con miedo de que me hiciera lo mismo que Kyo y solo me firmara 1 CD, me saludo, me sonrió y me firmo los 2 (guayyy) y pase a mi querido Toshiya, que me sonrió super tímido (que mono) y yo ahí lela perdida fijándome en los pelos horribles de su perilla (que a ver si se los corta algún día porque le queda mal), fui incapaz de hablarle y preguntarle que si le gusto lo que le regale en Milán (aunque seguro que le encantó jeje) y darle la mano como tenia intención de hacer (no veáis lo que me arrepentí de no haberlo hecho, y todavía me sigo arrepintiendo, pero es que ese hombre impone mucho y me quedo de piedra delante suya) y luego pase a Shinya y así que acabe y vi como mi amiga que venia detrás le daba la mano a Shinya (¿Por qué coño no les di yo la mano a los de Diru???? joder que pava soy)

Nos pusimos las 2 a comentar que Kyo era un antipático, porque a ella solo le firmo el CD y no le quiso firmar la entrada, pero lo de ella fue peor que lo mío porque a ella Kaoru no le firmo la entrada ( y ella era fan de Kyo y Shinya y desde ese momento dejo de ser fan de Kyo XD) y estábamos un poco decepcionadas por eso, pero bueno, y ella se quería volver ya a la cola del concierto pero yo me quería quedar a verlos irse, como además quedaba poca gente para firmar, y yo ahí venga a convencerla para no irnos todavía, y me salí con la mía porque los vimos ahí cerca de nosotras irse por una puerta jeje, que mono Toshiya esta vez se había vestido normal, y no como en Paris que iba en pantalones cortos y calcetines largos, y aquí si que firmaron a tol mundo que había y no se fueron hasta que firmaron a todas las que había por ahí, por cierto los precios de los CDS de Diru aquí eran muchísimo mas baratos que en Paris, que cagaros el DVD que en Paris eran 31 euros aquí costaba solo 17!!!!!!!!!!! ( y aquí podías hacer todas las fotos que te diera la gana a Diru que nadie te decía nada y no como en Paris donde hubo un incidente por estar haciendo fotos)

Y nos fuimos de allí, yo con mi Uroboros versión europea con las 5 firmas y mi versión japonesa con 4, y mi amiga con su CD firmado completo y su entrada con solo 3 firmas

Nos fuimos al hotel a dejar los cds y las mochilas e irnos ya a la última fase de la cola previa al concierto. Total que volvimos allí a las 17:00 y nos habíamos ido a las 13:00 jeje, 4 horas fuera, que morro, eso de ser las organizadoras de la cola tiene sus ventajas. Encima cuando volvimos a la cola nos encontramos una sorpresa, los de la sala habían puesto vallas para separar a las que teníamos número de las que no lo tenían, pero una valla a lo redondo que teníamos por ahí varios metros cuadrados de espacio libre para movernos a nuestro antojo, imaginaros la cara que pusieron la gente fuera de la valla cuando llegamos nosotras 2 pasando entre las 750 personas que había fuera de la valla y nos metimos dentro y nos pusimos junto a la puerta, yo creo que la gente flipada y no entendían porque estábamos esas 50 separadas de las demás

Estábamos super orgullosas de nosotras por haber conseguido esa hazaña en Alemania, pero es que tuvimos la suerte de que los de la sala les caímos bien las 2 y por eso nos ayudaron siguiendo nuestra idea de la lista jeje. Es que es muy fuerte, 2 españolas entre 798 alemanas (bueno y alguna que otra de otros paises) y éramos nosotras las que mandábamos allí XDDDD. Que bonito era todo, pero surgió una cosa que no esperábamos, y es que decidieron abrir las 2 puertas en vez de solo una como hacían siempre, así que aunque fuéramos las primeras habría gente que entraría a la vez que nosotras por la otra puerta y la sala es super pequeña y en 1ª fila no caben ni 15 personas, y con buena visión del escenario yo diria que solo 10 porque desde los lados casi no se debe ver nada. o eso parece), hablamos con nuestro amigo de la sala para convencerle de que solo abrieran 1 puerta pero dijo que no podía ser (no me extraña, se debió acojonar, es que las fans de Diru son peligrosas jeje) Así que decidimos que ella se pondría la 1ª en una puerta y yo la 1ª en la otra puerta y que cuando las abrieran retendríamos a la gente para entrar las 2 colas a la vez y ser nosotras 2 las primeras en entrar (que pillinas somos XD)

Y abrieron y las 2 ahí coordinadas, pero coño a mi me registraron porque llevaba la cazadora atada a la cintura pero aun así conseguí que nadie se me adelantara, y las 2 entramos las primeras, aunque al llegar donde el escenario ya había fans “vips” dentro. Pero aun siendo la gente de las primeras se quedaron sin 1ª fila porque era la fila que he visto que menos gente cabía, pero por suerte nosotras aun habiendo gente dentro, estábamos las 2 ahí juntas pegadas a la valla ella enfrente de Kyo (aunque renegaba de el y se quería haber puesto mas a la derecha enfrente de Shinya) y yo justo enfrente de Toshiya (que como en Paris y Milán no pude hacerlo, tenía esa espinita clavada) la mierda era que las vallas eran mas altas que las que suelen poner siempre y eran mas incomodas.

Pues nada ahí esperando a que empezara y a mi izquierda tenia a las 2 alemanas fans de Kyo y se habían tenido que poner entre Toshiya y Kaoru y me dijeron que si quería cambiarles el sitio, no me descojoné de risa de casualidad ante tal pregunta XDD ¿¿¿yo abandonar mi sitio justo enfrente de Toshiya y casi enfrente de Kyo??? anda yaaaa) Es que el escenario era tan pequeño que los 5 de Diru estaban super juntos, y yo desde donde estaba tenia super cerca a todos.

Bueno y después de esperar 1 hora, empezó el concierto, Kyo en chándal, oohhh yo lo prefiero en vaqueros, y nos quedamos flipando porque llevaba una mascara y la 1ª canción la estuvo cantando con la mascara puesta.

Estuvieron todos super enérgicos tol concierto, me he dado cuenta de que cuanto mas pequeño es el escenario y la sala mas parece que disfrutan ellos (o esa es mi impresión). Kyo estuvo mas marchoso que en los otros conciertos, no se, yo lo note como mas activo. Y Toshiya para que hablar, con sus pantalones militares que gracia me hizo (es que yo soy militar jeje), pobre Kaoru tol rato siendo regado por el sudor que chorreaba del pelo de Toto XDDD yo cada día estoy mas convencida de que se mete algo antes de los conciertos, porque encima no paraba de acercarse al borde del escenario y de hacer gestos a la gente y de hablar el solo sin parar, y aquí llevaba unos ojos bien grandes jeje y ahora le ha dado por “patalear” dando vueltas por el escenario como un poseso en algunas canciones, eso no se lo había visto hacer yo en otros conciertos de otros años (adoro a este hombre XD), y Kaoru también esta mas cerca de las fans en esta gira, otros años no se acercaba tanto ni hacia tantos gestos, Die como siempre ahí feliz con su sonrisa dando vueltas jeje y Shinya por ahí atrás perdido en la oscuridad

Kyo se estuvo pegando con el micro en el pecho, que se lo dejo super colorado. Kaoru, Toshiya y Die se salían del escenario por los lados para ponerse en una plataforma que había debajo de los altavoces para delirio de las fans que casi podían tocarlos, lo que me daba miedo es que alguno de los 3 se abriera la cabeza con los altavoces porque de pie no cabían bien y se tenían que agachar un poco para tocar y como no paraban de moverse, de casualidad que ninguno de ellos se dió un golpe en la sesera.

Bueno al final del concierto como ocurre últimamente Kyo nos empezó a aplaudir, se les veía muy felices a los 5, empezaron a tirar todas las púas que tenían como unos posesos, yo creo que nunca han tirado tantas, Kaoru Toshiya y Kyo me pusieron como una sopa con tanta agua y yo venga a cabrearme porque me iban a fastidiar mas la cámara que ya me fastidio Kaoru con su agua en Paris XD y Kaoru se subió al cajón de Kyo para despedirse y Toshiya también lo hizo luego

Toshiya al principio del concierto había tirado la 1ª púa que uso, y fue a caer justo delante mía en el suelo, se la pedí al segurata pero me dijo que la cogería mas tarde, así que cuando acabo el concierto tol mundo como locas pidiéndole las púas que al parecer había una de Kaoru también por ahí, y yo ahí desesperada porque me diera a mi la de Toshiya, dándole golpecitos en la calva al hombre mientras estaba agachado buscando la púa, y mi amiga horrorizada pensando que yo la había cagado por hacer eso y yo también pensé lo mismo XDDD, pero por suerte el hombre me la dio a mi, siiii tengo una púa de mi Toshiya, joder mira que es dificil conseguir una púa, aunque en el 2007 conseguí 3 en 2 conciertos, pero ahora ya estaba perdiendo toda esperanza de conseguir una, pero ya veis tengo una y encima de Toshiya (Toto te quiero jeje) y por desgracia esta vez tampoco conseguí una baqueta de Shinya, joder es que nunca las tira a las que estamos delante.

Bueno y nada mas verlos salir del escenario fuimos corriendo al merchandising y oohhhh para sorpresa nuestra no quedaba de nadaaaaa, que perra es la gente debió de comprar todo durante el concierto, que mierda yo quería la sudadera snif snif.

Salimos de la sala y nos fuimos al muro a esperar a que Diru saliera hacia el bus. Al rato salio Kaoru se subió al bus, pero luego se volvió a salir y se volvió a bajar por las escaleras que daban al recinto. Estábamos hartas de esperar porque hacia frio e íbamos con la ropa mojada (gracias al agua de Diru XD) Veíamos pasar a los del staff de Diru y los del staff de la sala de un lado para otro, pero era a través de la valla porque nos prohibían subirnos al muro (que lastima desde allí encima se veía todo genial)

Y luego vimos pasar al manager por ahí y Meri y yo le llamamos para que se acercara donde estábamos y le preguntamos que porque Diru no viene a España que aquí tienen muchas fans, y el tío se quedó flipando diciendo “¿hay muchas fans? Jeje ahora entiendo porque Diru nunca viene a España, no deben saber ni que existimos las fans aquí (aunque a mi me da igual que vengan o no, precisamente prefiero que no vengan porque estos viajes me sirven para huir lejos de casa jeje) Y seguíamos ahí esperando a que Diru saliera. Y los de la sala venga a sacar cosas por la puerta de atrás y nosotras cada vez que pasaban por delante les pedíamos “beer” en plan de coña y entonces paso el amiguito nuestro ese de la sala al que le caíamos tan bien y nos dio un papel de Diru que era confidencial donde ponían los horarios de todo lo que hacían ese día, y los itinerarios de los viajes que les quedaban por hacer y unas botellas de agua que Diru se había dejado, Así que éramos las únicas de las fans que estábamos allí esperando a Diru, que sabíamos a que hora exacta se irían ejjejeje. Así que aun nos quedaba un rato por esperar, y después vimos que había movimiento y salía gente y a lo que nos dimos cuenta Toshiya estaba entrando en el bus (que mierda casi no me dio tiempo de verle por estar despistada). Luego nos dimos cuenta que Kaoru estaba ahí fuera junto al bus fumando y hablando con los del staff. Al rato salio Shinya y se puso a hacerse fotos con los fans que tenían pase Vip (o sea los mismo que habían entrado antes que nadie al concierto, es decir una chica rubia muy guapa con su super melena hasta el culo y su hermano super alto y rubio también muy guapo) Así que por lo que veo Diru solo se acerca a l@s fans guap@s, porque había unas fans japonesas por ahí que se colaron dentro y se acercaron al bus y pasaron de ellas.

Estaba harta de estar agachada mirando por entre la rejas y me subí al muro aunque agachada para que los seguratas no me vieran, aunque como estaban ahí venga a beber cerveza al final ya ni se enteraban, así que cuando salio Die me asome por encima del muro y le grite “Arigatou” y el me sonrió y me saludo (aahhh que mono, debería hacerme fan de el porque es al que mas veo por los alrededores antes y después de los conciertos aunque no se hizo foto conmigo cuando se lo pedí en París. Me he dado cuenta de que son super tímidos cuando se les acerca una fan en la calle o en las firmas jeje, yo creo que cuando mas se desinhiben es cuando van bebidos jejejeej). Intente hacer fotos de ellos cada vez que iban al bus pero con mi cámara era imposible, joder que rabia. El bus estaba arrancando pero no vimos salir a Kyo por ningún lado así que el tío ya debía estar dentro desde antes que ninguno como siempre y debió salir por otro lado distinto del resto, y el bus se puso en marcha y nos bajamos del muro y fuimos hacia la puerta principal por donde saldría y paso a nuestro lado y como no, otra vez vi a Die dentro y creo que Toshiya también estaba ahí al lado, a los demás no se les veía. Así que Diru se fue y nos íbamos ya hacia el hotel cuando de repente el tío de la sala viene por detrás nuestra llamándonos y nos da una Heineken que Diru se dejo y un álbum casero con fotos y una postal que le había dado una fan a Diru y que ellos no quisieron el regalo.

Consejo de Aya: nunca le regaléis a Diru albums con fotos de ellos, y mucho menos que tengan fotos de su época visual-kei, que ya es la 2ª vez que veo que les regalan eso y ellos lo rechazan

Bueno pues 2 días después del concierto, y concretamente sobre las 3 de la madrugada, decidimos rememorar viejos tiempos e irnos a ver el Generator (el hotel donde estuvimos las dos 3 años antes, lo que pasa que en aquél entonces ni nos conocíamos) fuimos por los bares de la alrededor porque recordábamos todo aquello y nos hicimos fotos allí y nos compramos cerveza, y cogimos el metro para ir al Columbia Halle (o sea donde Diru toco hace 3 años que esta justo al lado de donde tocaron este año) y como las 2 teníamos muy malos recuerdos de aquella vez decidimos hacer una cosita allí como venganza, y mientras en el metro nos estábamos poniendo alegres con la cerveza (en el metro de Berlín por las noches todo el mundo va con sus cervezas o sus botellas de alcohol) y ahí haciendo el idiota poniendo la música de Diru en el móvil y tirando la cerveza sin querer por el suelo del metro y haciendo otras gilipolleces que paso de contar jeje y venga a reírnos en el vagón, bajamos del metro e íbamos cantando en voz alta canciones de Diru por la calle a esas horas de la madrugada y venga a decir chorradas y descojonarnos de risa (Umm creo que el alcohol nos estaba afectando un poquito al cerebro, pero solo un poquito jajajaj) y bueno llegamos a la puerta del Columbia Halle y decidimos vengarnos del sitio ese que tantos malos recuerdos nos traía y a que no sabéis que hicimos? Pues nos pusimos a … (mejor no lo cuento jeje) y luego cogimos las botellas de cerveza y las estampamos contra la puerta, que anchas nos quedamos y eso que había una comisaría de policía por la acera de enfrente (menos mal que nadie nos vio jeje), nos fuimos andando al hotel un poco afectadas por la cerveza y nos metimos en el metro y nos pusimos a hacer el gilipollas por ahí dentro, mi amiga echando escupitajos y haciéndole fotos (puajjjjj que asco) bueno la verdad es que llevábamos rato y rato pasándonoslo bien y sin parar de reír a lo bestia y a lo que salimos del metro nos dimos cuenta que estamos justo enfrente de la parada por la que habíamos entrado, ostia que risa nos entro ahí ya no pude mas y acabe de rodillas en el suelo descojonada perdida de la risa, juro que hacia muchísimo tiempo que no me había reído tanto como en esta aventura nuestra. (es que claro como no puedo contar lo que hicimos allí pues…XD)

Pues nada nos fuimos a dormir la mona, y al día siguiente a hacer turismo y a Neo Tokyo otra vez a ver si habían traído cosas de Diru del concierto, que mi amiga se gasto 100 y pico euros en cds de Diru y eso que los tenía ya pero los suyos eran piratas.

Luego nos recorrimos media ciudad buscando un shushi bar que venia en la guía y que ponía que era el primer restaurante japonés que se abrió en Berlín en 1991, joder si nos costo encontrarlo, pero comimos muchísimo por poco dinero, estábamos que reventábamos de tanto comer y encima ahí meándonos de risa y grabando videos estúpidos imitando a Diru en un video que están comiendo en Corea

Es que somos la pera, íbamos de vuelta en el metro diciendo paridas sobre cierta parte del cuerpo de cierto miembro de Dir en Grey y cosas así, y ala venga a reírnos allí, que la gente nos miraba y se reía solo de vernos jeje

Era nuestro ultima noche ahí y decidimos volver a despedirnos del Columbia Club y el Columbia Halle (porque no me iba a ir de allí sin haber …. rematado la faena de la noche anterior cuando nos vengábamos del sitio ese), llegamos allí y había gente haciendo botellón y nos hicimos fotos en las puertas de las 2 salas, y luego fui a ……, pero era muy jodido porque no paraban de pasar coches y gente, que era sábado, (y encima dentro de la sala había gente porque se oían ruidos y había luz) bueno después de varios intentos y descojones de risa conseguí completar mi venganza (y menos mal que no hicimos también otra cosa que se le ocurrió a Meri y que eso ya era pasarse) y así las 2 ya estábamos en paz con el puto sitio ese XD.

Y de repente veo que la puerta grande que da acceso a donde entro el bus de Diru tanto en el Columbia Club como el Columbia Halle (porque resulta que es el mismo sitio que esta entre medio de las 2 salas jeje) y entonces le digo a mi amiga de meternos dentro, porque allí es donde había estado Diru y las fans no habían podido entrar, así que había 2 trabajadores descargando vallas de un camión y les preguntamos que si podíamos cotillear por ahí y ellos nos dijeron que si. Así que nos empezamos a bajar por las escaleras donde bajo Diru y por el callejón por el que se escondió Kyo y la puerta donde entro el día del concierto, y también nos fuimos a la puerta de atrás del Columbia Halle por donde les vi entrar y salir hace 3 años, y nosotras ahí como 2 gilipollas venga a hacernos fotos por todos los sitios donde había pisado Diru (jeje la verdad me sentí en plan fangirl obsesa, pero que mas da, estábamos ahí las 2 como crías en plan “alaa mira por esta puerta entraron” y cosas como esas jeje) que pavas, y ala ahí estuvimos mucho rato recorriéndonos todo aquello y metiéndonos por todas partes sin que nadie nos dijera nada y venga a hacernos fotos en los mismos sitios que estuvo Diru XDDDDDD

Y aquí se acaban mis Diru-viajes como les llamo yo, que pena cuando se acaban se le queda a una como un vacio en el cuerpo, pero lo único que se puede hacer es esperar a que vuelvan el próximo año.

Los 3 viajes y los conciertos fueron geniales. Excepto mi primer viaje para ver a Diru en el 2006 que fue una caca, los otros 7 han sido perfectos y maravillosos y me han pasado cosas buenísimas que no esperaba (joder que suerte tengo siempre)

Este tour nos pasaron cosas increíbles que no puedo contar porque son muy fuertes y además no se me permite hablar de ello, y además seguro que muchas fans ni nos creerían, porque lo que tienen las fans de Diru es que si no ven las cosas con sus propios ojos no se las creen, Así que paso de contar lo que ocurrió, además muchas si lo supieran se morirían de envidia jajajaja

DEG Tour 09 - My reviews part 1

PARIS

Llegamos a Paris el día 9 por la tarde porque el avión llevaba mucho retraso, ya estábamos nerviosas pensando en que ya habría gente en la cola. Nos fuimos al hotel a dejar las cosas, comer algo e irnos ya al Bataclan. Afortunadamente nuestro hotel estaba solo a 6 minutos del sitio del concierto. Laura y yo cogimos las cosas necesarias para pasar la noche allí. Eran mas o menos las 8 de la tarde y al llegar al sitio nos encontramos con que aquello estaba lleno de vallas, gente y seguratas, y es que claro ese sitio es una discoteca y esa noche había espectáculo, así que nos quedamos las 2 allí esperando a que acabara la fiesta para poder ponernos a hacer cola, pensábamos que éramos las primeras en llegar allí porque no se veía ninguna fan de Diru. Nos pusimos a hablar con los seguratas y a preguntarles cosas sobre el sitio y el concierto y tal y nos dijeron que a las 11 de la noche se acababa eso. En esto se nos acercan 2 chicas y nos cuentan que ellas ya estaban en la cola, que eran 15 personas y que habían hecho una lista para que la gente se apuntara para llevar un orden porque como en zona por ahora no se podía hacer cola porque la discoteca estaba siendo usada y había mucha gente en la calle y al día siguiente iba a haber un concierto. Mientras las demás fans de Diru estaban en las mesas del bar de al lado de al lado del Bataclan, nosotras estábamos ahí en la calle enfrente viendo a la gente de la disco y marujeando jeje. Eran las 12 y pico y la disco seguía abierta y la calle llena de gente y no sabíamos que hacer así que le dije a Laura que se fuera al hotel que yo me quedaría esa noche durmiendo. Y pasaba el rato se hizo la 1:30 y la gente seguía allí donde la discoteca y las otras fans de Diru optaron por irse a sus casas a dormir así que yo también me fui al hotel a dormir.

A la mañana siguiente nos levantamos pronto y nos fuimos a la cola, no había ninguna fan sentada por ahí así que ubicamos nuestro puesto justo pegadas a la puerta del sitio. Como la sala estaba abierta y nos aburríamos decidí entrar dentro a cotillear, había unos hombres limpiando y les pregunte si podíamos entrar dentro a ver como era la sala y nos dijeron que si, además estuvimos hablando con ellos porque que casualidad habían trabajado en España. así que estuvimos un ratillo dentro haciéndonos fotos y subiéndonos al escenario donde mas tarde subiría Diru jeje

Y ahí a pasar el día, como estábamos en la lista no teníamos ningún problema en irnos las 2 por ahí a dar vueltas o a comprar. Así que íbamos y veníamos al hotel o al supermercado y por la tarde nos fuimos a una tienda de anime y cosas de esas japonesas y empezó a llover muchísimo y aun llevando paraguas y chubasqueros nos mojamos. Así que volvimos a la cola chorreando. Fuimos al hotel a cambiarnos y volvimos y como había concierto tuvimos que recoger nuestras cosas y pasarnos al bar de al lado hasta que acabara.
Por la noche ya pudimos ponernos en la cola todas las fans que estábamos allí, pero seguía lloviendo y no podíamos echarnos en el suelo, así que nosotras 2 nos quedamos sentadas toda la noche que por lo menos ahí junto a la puerta no nos mojábamos, porque las otras fans se estuvieron mojando por dormir en los sacos pero como les daba igual...XD
Y llego el día del concierto y las demás chicas decidieron irse a hacer cola en el Fnac para lo de las firmas, así que en la puerta del Bataclan nos quedamos mi amiga y yo y alguna que otra fan que estaban sentadas mas lejos.
Y sobre las 8 y pico de la mañana aparca un autobús con remolque delante nuestra, nosotras pensando en que podía ser el bus de Dir en Grey pero nos parecía muy temprano para que aparecieran ya por ahí.
Y en esto que vemos salir del bus a Die que tenia ganas de fumar y se puso ahí delante y nosotras ahí disimulando como que no estábamos nerviosas ni nada jeje (joder es que tener el bus de Diru delante sabiendo que ellos están dentro y están mirando y encima Die delante nuestra...) y disimuladamente nos pusimos a hacerle fotos a Die que al acabar el cigarro se volvió a dentro, pero al rato volvió a salir a la calle a hablar con el móvil.

Como no había seguratas ni vallas ni nadie que nos echara de allí, estábamos de pie junto a la puerta de entrada del Bataclan por donde Diru tenía que entrar, y allí hablando con otra fan y ahí tan felices que no nos dábamos cuenta cuando Diru iba saliendo del bus y venían hacia la puerta. Bueno iban saliendo de 1 en 1 y cada mucho tiempo entre uno y otro. 1º salio Die que paso junto a nosotras y entro dentro pero se quedo ahí en la entrada hablando con los del staff y luego ahí sentado hablando otra vez por el móvil. Nosotras ahí flipando por tener a Die tan cerca durante tanto rato que estuvimos tentadas a hablar con el pero no nos atrevimos jeje. Al rato entro Shinya al que ni siquiera le saludamos XD, mas tarde entro Toshiya, que como estábamos ahí tol rato hablando con una francesa es que ni me entere cuando salio del bus y eso que lo teníamos ahí al lado, pero por suerte como Diru veía que solo estábamos 3 personas en la puerta y que éramos inofensivas pues por eso pasaban tan tranquilamente a nuestro lado (y cuando digo a nuestro lado me refiero a medio metro de nosotras que si hubiéramos querido les podríamos haber tocado jeje) aunque yo creo que Diru estaría alucinando de ver que no había fans allí donde se supone que debía estar la cola del concierto. Bueno pues cuando paso Toshiya por mi lado me quede horrorizada por su aspecto, entre los pelos que llevaba y los pantalones cortos con las medias largas...pero bueno, le llame, se volvió, me sonrió y se metió adentro. Luego salio Die otra vez al bus y yo me acerque a el a pedirle una foto (que no se como lo hice pero no estaba nerviosa en absoluto) y entonces paso que casi me eche a reír por su reacción, el venga a bajar la cabeza super nervioso y no sabia ni que decir, jaja fue buenísimo nunca había visto a Die en tal estado de timidez y nerviosismo así que lo deje en paz al pobrecito XDD
Y ahí seguíamos esperando que solo faltaban por salir Kaoru y Kyo, pero pasaban los minutos y teníamos que irnos al hotel a ducharnos y cambiarnos de ropa para ir al Fnac a las firmas y ya empezaban a venir mas fans a la cola, en esto que apareció Vani y ahí es cuando ocurrió una cosa increíble jeje (pero eso no es asunto vuestro y no pienso contároslo porque es muy fuerte lo que paso en ese momento y luego mas tarde y también luego en Milán y Berlín ....pero os vais a quedar con las ganas de saberlo porque es algo privado XD) esperamos un poco mas y entonces salio Kaoru, y como estábamos hartas de esperar a Kyo y se nos hacia tarde nos fuimos al hotel y de ahí a las firmas. Cuando llegamos allí había una cola impresionante de fans esperando pero como no teníamos ganas de estar ahí esperando en la calle tanto rato decidimos mejor entrar en la tienda y estar allí viendo a Dir en Grey y ahí estuvimos un buen rato viendo las cara de aburrimiento de Kyo jeje que se le notaba que no le apetecía estar ahí.

Y cuando acabo nos volvimos a la cola del Bataclan que ya habían puesto vallas y estaba todo el mundo ahí metido pero como teníamos nuestro numero en la cola no había problema, así que nos fuimos al hotel a dejar las cosas y a comer algo y enseguida volvimos y la verdad es que no estuvimos mucho rato ahí esperando, a lo que nos dimos cuenta ya estábamos dentro de la sala.
Lo que nadie sabia era si Dir en Grey tocaba el 1º o era el otro grupo el que lo hacia, porque era un concierto compartido entre los 2 grupos. Pues nada ahí dentro yo en 1ª fila como siempre solo que estaba vez no pude estar enfrente de Toshiya y me tuve que poner enfrente de Kaoru, esperando a que empezara la cosa y entonces se me ocurrió preguntarle a uno de los seguratas si se podían hacer fotos durante el concierto y me dijo que si (y yo me puse mas contenta que unas castañuelas jiji)
Del concierto pues no se que decir (nunca se que hablar de los conciertos XD) pues que estuvieron geniales como siempre, que mire demasiado a Kaoru (y eso es preocupante porque pensaba en lo sexy que estaba en camiseta de tirantes y yo esas cosas solo las pienso de Toshiya y no de ningún otro miembro de Diru pero es que como Toto últimamente esta tan anti-sexy....) además hubo un momento en el que Kaoru se me quedo mirando un buen rato y coño como intimida su mirada, me estaba poniendo nerviosa, tenia ganas de apartar la vista de el, joder no se porque me miro tanto rato. El concierto se me hizo muy corto además como me pase mucho rato haciendo fotos..., bueno es que realmente solo tocaron durante 1 hora. Esta vez no conseguí ninguna púa (bueno lo que mas deseo es una baqueta de Shinya para mi colección, porque en el tour del 07 ya conseguí púas de Toshiya, Kaoru y Die)

Kyo se debió ir contento porque nos aplaudió, y estaba yo mirando mi cámara de fotos cuando una ola de agua cayo justo encima de ella, en esos momentos habría estrangulado a Kaoru por mojármela, hasta pensé que igual lo hizo a propósito porque igual se harto de que me pegara medio concierto haciéndole fotos jeje pero como yo no estaba mirándole pues no se si lo lanzo porque si o con esa idea (Aya que mal pensada eres, el pobre Kaoru solo quería refrescarte jaja) así que nos salimos fuera a esperar a Diru junto a su autobús, y ahí estaban los del staff de Diru venga a hacernos fotos a nosotras (porque será?... jeje no os interesa el porque, eso solo lo sabemos nosotras, los del staff y Diru XDDD que fuerte!!!) y de repente pasa a toda prisa junto a nosotras Kyo con una toalla en la cabeza para que nadie le reconociera, y la gente ni se entero. Seguimos ahí esperando a que subieran al bus los otros 4 y mis amigas cansadas de esperar se fueron mientras a comprar sushi, y ahí me quede yo, y los seguratas no echaron de ahí alejándonos del bus, pero luego me fui acercando disimuladamente, y en esto que como tenían la puerta del bus abierta veía a Kyo que estaba ahí junto a ella, y como no había mas que otras 2 fans ahí, el resto ni se dieron cuanta de que Kyo estaba a la vista, que gracia cada vez que intentaba hacerle una foto el giraba la cabeza, después de varios intentos lo di por imposible XD. Ví a Kaoru dentro que estaba mirando unos papeles y cogiendo una cerveza, estaba justo donde la puerta que estaba abierta y nos miraba y nos saludo. Luego entro Shinya que le saludamos y nos devolvió el saludo, mas tarde Toshiya que también nos saludo y se sentó enfrente de la ventana a comer pizza y beber cerveza ahí estábamos viéndole comer y le saludamos y el hizo lo mismo (ains que mono el). Pero lo gracioso fue cuando apareció Die y su pelo recogido que yo lo ví venir pero Vani no y estaba ella justo en medio de su camino y entonces ella se aparto pensando que era un mujer que quería pasar por la calle jajajaja y yo diciéndole que era Die (Vani cómprate gafas XD)
Bueno Die también nos saludo y allí seguíamos viendo como Diru hacia vida dentro del bus, y entonces salio un miembro del staff y nos dio las pizzas que le había sobrado a Diru (que por cierto estaban asquerosas XD, pobre Diru que mal se alimentan). Y el autobús estaba ya arrancando cuando de repente se abre la puerta y salen 2 chicas del staff y van corriendo a la lavandería que había al lado de la sala del concierto porque se les había olvidado recoger la ropa que habían puesto a lavar cuando llegaron (jeje ¿os imagináis que alguien hubiera entrado allí y se hubiera llevado los calzoncillos de Kyo de recuerdo?)
Y ahí se acabo Diru en Paris, nosotras nos quedamos 2 días mas haciendo turismo y luego cogiendo el avión hacia Milán para ver a Diru otra vez

MILAN

Esta vez llegamos varios días antes del concierto pero porque veníamos directamente desde Paris. También aquí nos habíamos buscado un hotel cerca del sitio del concierto, aunque vaya barrio en el que estábamos, no se ni como nos atrevíamos a ir solas de noche por ahí. Hacia un calor tremendo en esta ciudad, yo me moría, cogimos una mañana y nos fuimos a ver donde estaba la sala Alcatraz que era donde seria el concierto (siempre hacemos un reconocimiento previo de las zonas de los conciertos para ver el panorama a ver si hay supermercados, baños y cosas así)

Llego el día de hacer cola, queríamos empezar ya por la mañana pero estábamos muy vagas y no nos apetecía ir aun y como habíamos visto que aun no había fans allí…, así que decidimos ir a comer y luego ya empezaríamos a hacer cola. Y cuando llegamos ya había un par de italianas que me sonaba su cara del tour del 07. Así que les hable de hacer lo de la lista para organizar la cola porque en Paris había funcionado muy bien, y les pareció buena la idea.

Esa misma tarde había un concierto en esa sala así que había mucho movimiento, aunque no sabíamos ni que conciertos había porque no había carteles por ningún lado, ni tampoco había ninguno de Diru. Así que enfrente nuestra aparco un autobús del grupo que tocaba esa noche, pero como no los conocíamos nos daba igual quien saliera del bus XD. Entonces vienen unos hombres y empiezan a montar unos puestos ahí en la calle para vender camisetas no oficiales de ese grupo y así descubrimos que el grupo se llamaba Staind y eran de USA, pero no lo habíamos oído en la vida, y salio un hombre del autobús con los brazos llenos de tatuajes y se puso a reñir con los de los vendedores esos. Nosotras pensando que seria algún miembro del staff del grupo y de repente se acerca a nosotras que estábamos ahí sentadas en el suelo y se agacha y nos pregunta que si estamos ahí para ver al grupo que tocaba esa noche, y nosotras le explicamos que veníamos a ver a un grupo japonés, que íbamos a estar 3 días en la cola y tal y el hombre flipando, y entonces Vani le pregunto que si el era del staff del grupo y va y nos dice que era el cantante, y las 3 nos quedamos en plan “oops que pavas somos” así que no sabíamos que decirle y entonces me puse a preguntarle sobre el tour de su grupo y cosas de esas, y el hombre seguía insistiendo en preguntarnos que porque íbamos a pasar 2 noches durmiendo en la calle para ver a un grupo, es que no entendía el porque hacíamos eso, y le explicamos nuestras razones para hacerlo. Y le dijimos que ojalá el cantante de nuestro grupo japonés (o sea Kyo) fuera igual de amable que el y que se acercara a las fans, que los de Diru ya no eran tan cercanos a la gente como eran antes, y el nos dijo que ese grupo japonés no se merecía unas fans tan buenas como nosotras capaces de estar varios días en la cola por ellos (que por cierto es raro que no conociera a Dir en Grey porque estuvieron tocando con ellos en el Download Festival). Le dije que si nos podíamos hacer una foto con el, y el tío encantado, hasta se quito las gafas de sol y nos agarro por la cintura jeje (y no como otros que les pides una foto y se acojonan, ¿verdad Die? XD)

Después de estar un buen rato hablando con el se fue a la sala y nosotras seguimos en la cola viendo como venia gente a hacer cola para el concierto de Staind, así que nos tuvimos que levantar para no estorbar. Aprovechando aquello me fui a la puerta (que habían vallado todo aquello) a investigar un poco por donde se entraba a la sala y esas cosas. Y uno de los seguratas se pensó que lo que yo quería era comprar una entrada, le explique que solo estaba mirando a ver como iban las cosas para así saberlas para el día de nuestro concierto y el hombre me explico como iría lo de la cola y por donde teníamos que entrar, entonces le pregunte que si podía entrar un momento a la sala a verla y me dijo que si (y eso que estaba entrando gente para el concierto ese), una de las chicas italianas también quiso entrar, pero el hombre dijo que solo yo jeje, así que me metí hasta dentro de la sala para conocerme aquello para el día de Diru. (Aya siempre saliéndose con la suya y encontrando empleados super amables que le dejan entrar en las salas XD)

Mas tarde decidimos que yo me quedaría esa noche a dormir allí y ellas 2 se quedarían la noche siguiente, ya que era una zona peligrosa y claro tenían miedo de quedarse allí porque era un barrio peligroso con muchos inmigrantes, porque solo estábamos nosotras y las 2 italianas, pero como a mi no me daba miedo y además preferia pasar allí la 1ª noche porque yo nunca puedo dormir en la cola y no quería que pasara como en Paris que fui al concierto sin haber dormido la noche anterior…así que mientras ellas se quedaban allí me fui al supermercado a por provisiones para la noche y en esto que estoy esperando en la cola del supermercado para pagar y aparece allí Laura diciéndome que vuelva corriendo al Alcatraz porque en cantante de Staind nos había invitado a ver su concierto, así que deje las cosas allí porque no podía esperar a pagar y nos fuimos corriendo a la sala, recogimos nuestras cosas de la cola excepto las esterillas que las dejamos allí y metimos las mochilas en el guardarropa de la sala, porque aun no habían venido mas fans a la cola y aunque vinieran los seguratas de la puerta nos guardaban el sitio.

Y menuda diferencia de un concierto de Diru lleno de fangirls histéricas que no hacen mas que empujar, al concierto este que estábamos ahí con toda tranquilidad y sin tener nadie que nos matara a empujones (es mas, hasta un chico me pisó sin querer y me pidió perdón jeje). La verdad es que disfrutamos mucho del concierto y estuvimos allí cabeceando y saltando cual fans de Staind jeje.

Lo malo es que salimos sudando de allí y ya era muy tarde como para ir al hotel a ducharme y cambiarme de ropa, Vani y Laura se tenían que ir al hotel pero quisieron quedarse a esperar a que Aaron Lewis (el cantante de Staind) saliera para hablar con el. Así que estuvimos esperando rato y rato y vimos como salían los otros miembros del grupo y sus fans se agolpaban ahí alrededor de ellos (que majos ahí venga a firmar autógrafos y a hacerse fotos con los fans y no como Diru, claro que la diferencia de cómo son las fans de unos y otros también es grande) entonces salio el cantante pero se fue corriendo hacia el bus y Laura fue hacia el y le regalo un muñequito que llevaba siempre colgando en su mochila. Después Laura y Vani se fueron al hotel y nos quedamos allí en la cola solo 3 personas a pasar la noche. El cantante volvió a salir del bus y estuvo allí un buen rato con las fans haciéndose fotos, yo estaba ahí al lado esperando a que lo dejaran en paz para poder hablar con el y darle las gracias por invitarnos al concierto. Cuando pude me acerque y le di las gracias y le dije que el concierto fue increíble y el cogió y me dio un abrazo fuerte (guaaaa no me esperaba yo algo así) y le contó a todo el mundo que estaba allí junto a el, que yo venia desde España y que iba a pasar 3 días en la cola para ver a un grupo japonés jeje. Luego me volví a la cola, que después del concierto ese me apetecía sentarme. Staind aun seguía por allí en la calle hablando con los del staff mientras terminaban de recoger sus cosas, y al rato Aaron vino otra vez donde estábamos para intentar convencernos de que no durmiéramos allí porque era muy peligroso (la verdad es que el hombre estaba muy preocupado por nosotras) y yo aproveche el estar hablando con el para pedirle que si me podía dar agua que tenia muchísima sed y no tenia nada para beber en toda la noche, y el dijo que en seguida me traerían algo. Bueno el ya se despidió de nosotras y me dio un par de besos (aaahhhh que emoción) y se fue al bus y uno de su staff vino con un montón de botellines de agua para darme jeje. Y a los pocos minutos salio de la sala otro grupo que debían ser los teloneros de Staind, las 2 chicas italianas se levantaron corriendo a pedirles autógrafos y a hacerse fotos con ellos (yo no conocía a ese grupo), cuando volvieron a la cola les pregunte quien era ese grupo y me dijeron que se llamaban Belladonna, y ahí estaba el grupo ese enfrente nuestro haciéndose fotos junto a su furgoneta, y uno del staff de ellos me miraba todo el rato (se debía preguntar que porque yo no me levante y fui a pedirles autógrafos) y al final se acerco a mi y me dijo que me pusiera junto al grupo para hacerme fotos con ellos (yo flipando de que me dijera eso) así que me hicieron unas cuantas fotos con ellos y luego ya se fueron. (con lo que yo odio hacerme fotos!!!)

Y ahí toda la noche aburrida sin poder dormir hasta que a las 4:30 de la madrugada se hizo de día (diossss ¿pero esto que es? ¿tan temprano y ya con sol? que es España se hace de día a las 7 de la mañana!!) en fin que le vamos a hacer.
Pues a esas horas vinieron 2 italianas mas (una era igualita a Kyo jeje) y ahí estuvimos hablando hasta que llegaron Laura y Vani y entonces me fui yo al hotel a ducharme. Mas tarde volví a la cola, ya había llegado mas gente y mis amigas se habían encargado de ir apuntando en la lista a todas las que iban llegando. Ese día también había concierto en la sala pero tampoco conocíamos al grupo que tocaba (que incultura musical tenemos XD) y vino un chico a hacer cola para ese concierto y casualidades de la vida, era español, así que se sentó junto a nosotras y la gente se pensaba que hacia cola para ver a Diru jaja. Bueno y así pasaron las horas, nos fuimos las 3 a comer por ahí con el chico este que se llamaba Sergio (que paso como en Paris que como estábamos apuntadas en la lista de la cola nos podíamos ir las 3 de allí un buen rato)

Y por la noche hubo el concierto ese y después me fui al hotel a dormir mientras Laura y Vani se quedaban a dormir en la cola. A la mañana siguiente ya era el día del concierto y decidí ir pronto a la cola por si venia el bus de Diru, llegaron mas tarde y justo en ese momento se puso a llover jeje (menos mal que llevábamos paraguas) pero esto fue todo lo contrario a Paris donde estábamos ahí solas y Diru entro tranquilamente, no, aquí la cuadrilla de fans histéricas se lanzaron como posesas hacia el bus y se pusieron a gritar como locas (dios mío yo flipo cuando veo estos arrebatos que le dan a las fans). Pobre Diru debían estar acojonados dentro del bus XDD, y mientras nosotras ahí tan tranquilas mirando el espectáculo y hablando con cierta persona a la que le encargue que le diera mi regalo a Toshiya y la carta de una amiga a Kyo (que no se porque coño no se lo di en Paris).

Y llego la hora de entrar a la sala, como teníamos aquello organizado con la lista y los seguratas nos aseguraron que si había problemas y la gente no respetaba eso ellos nos ayudarían, no hubo problema, nos pusieron una valla ahí a las primeras porque nosotras se lo pedimos para evitar que alguna espabilada se nos colara, que hubo algunas que lo intentaron. Y entramos sin problemas, como la sala era pequeña tenia dudas de si podría ponerme delante de Toshiya porque tenía 5 italianas por delante que se iban a poner en esa zona. Así que entramos y como no, yo en 1ª fila como de costumbre pero ya no había sitio donde quería, aunque tenia la opción de ponerme enfrente de Kaoru pero como en Paris ya me puse allí pues decidí ponerme delante de Kyo jeje (es que todos los conciertos de Diru a los que he ido siempre he estado en 1ª fila justo enfrente de Toshiya que para eso es mi preferido jeje). Y oohh estar ahí donde Kyo es otro mundo, además es justo el centro y desde allí se ve a los 5 de Diru perfectamente. Estuvimos 1 hora y media esperando a que empezara, que horror y encima los seguratas nos dijeron que no iban a repartir agua durante el concierto y además prohibían hacer fotos.

En el foso entre el escenario y la barrera había como unos cajones grandes situados donde estaba Kyo Kaoru y Die, y yo les dije a mis amigas que estaba segura de que Kyo se bajaría ahí y ellas convencidas de que no lo haría. Y salio Diru al escenario y Kyo nos escupió y sus babas fueron a parar encima mía porque yo era yo que estaba justo enfrente de el (muchas veces pensé que mis amigas me debían esta odiando porque ellas son fans de Kyo y yo les había robado el sitio enfrente de el, pero esa no era mi intención, es que allí estaba mas cerca de Toshiya jeje) Y ahí estaba Kyo vistiendo unos vaqueros que le sientan mucho mejor que el chándal jeje (aunque mis amigas y yo comentábamos que con el chándal se le marca mas el paquete XDDDD) y bueno lo de siempre, Kaoru venga todo el rato a hacer gestos a las fans (aunque en vez de tanto gesto mas le valdría moverse un poco mas por el escenario que parece una estatua de lo poco que se mueve) Toshiya por ahí haciendo el loco (me encanta que haga esas cosas), Die como siempre meneando la cabeza como un poseso que algún día se va a partir el cuello, Y Shinya pues…ahí sentado tocando jeje (pobre Shinya es el que menos se fija la gente durante los conciertos)

Y durante el concierto Die y Kaoru se bajaron a los cajones esos que tenían delante y las fans ahí como locas tocándoles, y oh sorpresa el antisocial de Kyo también hizo lo mismo, se bajo al cajón y dejo que le tocáramos!! Estaba ahí al alcance de mis manos, al principio no me atrevía a tocarle no fuera a echarse a atrás, pero como las otras le tocaban como locas y como ví que eso era lo que el quería pues aproveche y le toque las piernas de arriba abajo durante un rato, luego por un instante se echo un poco hacia atrás y no llegábamos a tocarle pero enseguida volvió a acercarse y pude seguir tocándole, incluso le metí la mano donde llevaba el roto en el pantalón y le toque la rodilla XDDDD (dios que vergüenza yo ahí comportándome igual que las fangirls esas a las que tanto critico siempre). Y el concierto siguió y hubo un momento que Kyo me miro y coño otro que tiene una mirada intimidante igual que Kaoru, sin embargo Die me miro y es una mirada tan distinta a los otros, que en vez de intimidarte te hace sonreír.

Después del concierto fuimos donde el merchandising y nos compramos varias camisetas y salimos a la calle a esperar a que Diru saliera hacia el bus, pero como debían estar aun traumatizados por el recibimiento de las fans histéricas por la mañana, metieron el autobús dentro de la sala para evitar a las fans jejeje. Nosotras mientras allí hablando con los seguratas, y luego salio el bus y la verdad no recuerdo si llegamos a verles a través de la ventana.

Y al día siguiente ya nos volvimos para España, me despedí de Laura y Vani que ellas ya no iban a ir a mas conciertos de Dir en Grey, pero a mi aún me esperaba otro mas en Berlín al que acudiría con otra amiga.

- Your latest release A KNOT OF offers an amazing plenty of material. How did that happen?
Kaoru: Well, we chose the most important concert-documentations from different tours and shows that toke place between 2005 and 2007.

- How did you come up with the cover and artwork?
Kyo: We took the three designs from our fanclub-limited DVD's (put them together) and then created the design for this DVD.

- What kind of feeling is it to look at this footage and watch how DIR EN GREY has developed over the years?
Toshiya: To see that, everyone will have the chance, because this DVD practically combines everything that has happened during the past three years. Pretty straight-line and clear.

- The DVD contains recordings of your live performances at the German mega-festivals Rock im Park and Rock am Ring 2005. What was your first impression when you overlooked this huge area?
Toshiya: I was very excited to play our music in front of so many people. The crowd that sprawled in front of us is what impressed me the most.

- Does it make you proud when you watch these scenes or do you sometimes privily think: 'Oh, that could have been better/different...'?
Kaoru: Of course we're proud when we look back, but we never let it go to our heads, because we want to advance in future as well and want to try new things. At the same time it's only human to feel disappointed now and then.

- The current release clearly shows what huge popularity DIR EN GREY has gained worldwide within the past three or four years. How do you deal with this enormous success?
Kyo: I don't think that we achieve success yet. This is is just the beginning for us.

- Have you been in luck to get to know or become friends with artist-colleagues through your frequently touring through America. (grammar?)
Die: In doing so we've found a lot of friends. Some of our musician-friends come around when we're in their city. That's always funny.

- You've been playing numerous concerts by now, presenting songs from your fresh album UROBOROS. What kind of experiences did you gain within the band with that?
Kyo: We still try to figure that out.
Die: We've only played these songs a few times, so we can't say anything concrete about that yet.

- And how did the audience embrace the songs so far?
Shinya: I think, they go down well, and to us it seems like they will even more in future.

- At the moment you're on the road a lot. What is it that lets you step on stage with enthusiasm every night?
Kaoru: We step on stage and let out all of our frustration and all of our feelings. That's what drives us.

- This album - UROBOROS - was it a possibility for you to draw a line under something - to sort things out?
Kyo: No; for us it's the first step to what's up next.

- The way of DIR EN GREY is...?
Toshiya: The "way of life".

Tour 08 Death Over Blindness

May 4^th – They finished appearing on the event and then moving…

After finishing “hide memorial summit,” Dir en grey headed to their next venue in Okayama without having any time to rest. Few hours later after leaving Tokyo, they met with Mr. Takahashi, the event promoter of Candy Promotion in Okayama, and by then, everyone was tired and silent the entire time.

May 5th - Crazymama Kingdom

Osaka-fu: Death Over Blindness tour has begun with three consecutive show at Namba Hatch. Originally, 5/4 was a moving day, but due to their appearance on the event (hide memorial), the show in Okayama became the 5^th day of the 6 consecutive shows. Due to the venue’s situation, we could not use the backdrop from Namba Hatch. However, the emblem that was on the tour goods (t-shirts and stickers) appeared behind Shinya’s drumset. It was difficult to create the same impact of a large venue, but because this place was compact, the emblem helped to bring out liveliness.

In backstage, there was no space for many people, and the staff members were taking a break near the hallway where you can see the audience waiting for the door to open. By the way, this venue is on the fourth floor of a nice-looking building. No one would even dream of such an intense show happening on the upper floor. During the show, the audience began to jump with the music’s beat and the floor began to shake. On the last song, The III D Empire, the staff near the stage had to hold up a “no jumping” sign.

May 6th - Crazymama Kingdom

The line for entrance began to move as the time was 6pm, and the sky made us think of summer dusk. People were slowly filling in the venue, and the camera and speakers set up here connected to the band members’ room as they were able feel the excitement of the audience directly. The venue filled with more heat than yesterday, and from the first song, Ryoujoku no Ame, the band members and audience seriously took on each other. Especially with small stages, one can feel the raw and concentrated condition between the staging of 5 members and the reaction of the audience. Near the front stage, the fence could not withhold the push from the back, so the front row audience had their feet up near the front edge of the stage.

During this performance, dead tree left an impression where Kyo sung serenely and eerily as he stared at one spot while the audience stopped their movement and stared back in awe.

May 8th - Club Diamond Hall

It has been a while to come to Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya city, Club Diamond Hall as the red wall is covered with foreign artists’ flyers, and this appearance reminds you of a live house in Europe and the United States. Before, we had more shows at Zepp Nagoya, and because of that, it feels strangely refreshing of having a different Nagoya atmosphere. After 3pm, the stage was not big, but the Tech team took their positions and checked everything carefully. On the floor, there was Toshiya watching them. This tour has 2 new songs included and they were performed at Club Diamond Hall as well. Glass Skin was performed where Kyo had a spot light on him while the overflowing sound of piano resounded. Kyo began to sing with an ecstatic facial expression, and with the guitar parts, the hue of the band’s sound was oozing out. The left-hand side was overlapping with the song, and shakes inside the small amount of light. This song has a smooth texture, and it brought a moment of silence to the heated floor.

May 9th - Club Diamond Hall

We are half-way through the tour. The other new song, Stuck Man was a contrasting song from Glass Skin as it had a vibrant tempo, and shook the ground. During this song, Kyo counted together with the audience and raised their fists into the air, heightening a rush of blood to the head. Toshiya strummed the strings sharply with his slap-bass technique, and from the performances during the tour, his sound seemed to become fuller. Also, the lighting matched with the song as it shined the back drop; and it sometimes changed into a shady form and lured people who watched it into a peculiar world. It felt like Stuck Man during Nagoya’s second date had brought itself together. It was a new song before and had some rawness, but from this day, this new song changed into a combination of maintaining freshness and stability.

May 16th - Zepp Sendai

Heading into summer, the surroundings of the Sendai train station near Zepp Sendai have paper lanterns and pennants hung on street lamps and stands that appear florid because the “Aozora festival” is coming up on the weekend (Apparently, this festival will take place on the day of the second show here). Sendai was infused with energy and the sunny May weather welcomed Dir en grey. In the venue, a large banner was put up on stage as it has not been used since the Namba Hatch shows; once again, one is blown away by its presence. The audience that will gather in front of this banner and create a critical state must be a superb view. A few hours later, on the stage with that banner hung, Kyo’s voice ringed in the air.

“Sendai, you guys are better than this! Can you do it?”

The voltage of excitement was rather easy on the first day at Sendai, but after being aroused by Kyo’s voice, one does not even have to guess that the show became more intense.

May 17th - Zepp Sendai

On the second day of Sendai, there was a completely different set-list from yesterday. The venue’s spirit was as if it was continuing from yesterday’s encore. Around the middle of the show, there was a special effect with the lighting and backdrop during Conceived Sorrow that was eye-catching. We used a special machine, which makes Kyo’s form appear on the backdrop and change with the song’s style and tempo. One should note that Kyo’s overlapping forms several times was not a projected image, but a creation through special light effects.

“It was all right…”

Kyo spitted out some water and after commenting about today’s show to the audience, he left the stage. After the show, there was news that one band member lost his jewelry he wore during encore as it flew into the audience floor. But few minutes later, an audience came up to the staff asking,

“Does this belong to one of the band member?”

This band member thought that his jewelry would never return, but he was very happy about the miraculous happening. We would like to use this moment again to thank this audience.

May 19th - Aomori Quarter

We were nearby the ocean, and around the venue, one could smell the salt. In front of the venue, a large blue truck with the band name and title awaits sonorously for visitors. Because it’s the beginning of the week, we did not see too many audiences waiting near the venue. However, before entrance time, many Dir en grey fans surrounded the place. Like Okayama, this venue is built compact, so we can anticipate vivacity. In this show, one would feel strongly of how Dir en grey considers the time between songs to be very important. During the time between songs, Kyo’s voice delay would disappear, and you can say that the superb timing from each song determines the live itself. The timing to begin Obscure’s SE after Kodoku ni shisu yueni kodoku was brilliant. As Die’s guitar sound continues to echo, in which timing does the SE begin…? This is possible through the communication and sensory link between the manipulators: Mr. Furuta and Dir en grey.

May 20th - Aomori Quarter

Stormy day. There was no space to have a tour goods booth in the venue, so as the winds were getting stronger, staffs outside had to hold on to the tent that was getting blown away (basically saying they had to sell tour goods outside). Even with the bad weather, fans were coming up to the booth seeking tour goods. Meanwhile, in the band member’s room (which is usually a fancy bar), preproduction for the next album was going on. The tour and music production were happening at the same time, and the members must have been very busy, but their source of power is the view they would see in a few minutes: the live and the audience. When the storm was finally over, the tour’s last regional date, the show in Aomori, began. During Dozing Green, smoke rose up, and it became a creature manipulated by Dir en grey’s music, which changed shape according to the 5 member’s movements and attached onto them.

Near the end of the show, behind Kaoru, there was Die reaching his arms to play on Kaoru’s guitar. This was a rare scene that could only be seen in an extra time of encore.

*This date was Manager Inoue’s 36^th birthday, and after RH (rehearsal?), birthday song filled up the venue. A cake was brought to Mr. Inoue who seemed somewhat surprised and embarrassed, and a small birthday celebration took place. We weren’t notified at this point, but after 4 shows later at Shinkiba Studio Coast, we celebrated birthdays of Mr. Tomochi (or Tsuchimochi?) who is in charge of flipside and Mr. Yoshida who is in charge of the manipulator. Dir en grey staff team has a lot of people born in May.

May 23rd - Yokohama Blitz

Before the show, Kaoru had a big package, and peeking into it, as we have touched about this topic during vol. 39, Nine Inch Nail’s new material had arrived. Looking happily and checking out what was inside, Kaoru could not help but be amazed by its splendor. During the summer of 2007, Nine Inch Nails and Dir en grey appeared together in the Ankkarock festival. Today’s set list included Shokubeni, Karasu, and with that flow, the nursery rhyme, Kagome appeared. Kyo almost weaves out the melody bringing fear and sadness. Lurking with eeriness, Kagome became a splendid introduction for Karasu. Nursery rhyme and Dir en grey does not seem to go together. Yet, the lyricist and composer are unknown, and this song has many stories due to its mysterious origin (one may check this up on Wikipedia or I can translate Dr. Nemunemu that actually talks about Kagome in the earlier Haiiro no ginka), which may actually link with Dir en grey’s world.

When looking around at fans calling encore, there was one man who left an impression where he held onto his head and looked dazed out.

May 24th - Yokohama Blitz

On the second date, it was unfortunately raining, which may had been signifying tsuyu(rain season) coming up. During Kigan, people were jumping up and down as it shook the floor and vibrated the walls that spread to the projector and the image on the backdrop with many kanji on the screen also swayed heavily. The audiences participated actively, and their action reflected back to the stage, making it a rare occurrence to watch. After the show, people were waiting at the cloak area where rain was pouring onto their heads just like earlier before the show started. However, was that wet and elusive shine emitted from rain or sweat…? These audiences covered the outside of Yokohama Blitz. Finally, the tour only has Shinkiba 3 Days left. What kind of growth would happen within these 3 days?

May 28th - Shinkiba Studio Coast

Today is the first day of Shinkiba Studio Coast 3 days. Shinkiba Studio Coast has a good sound, and at the rehearsal stage, the song and delay had a distinct echo, which was impressive. Before the show opening, we were called by Toshiya.

“I want to give my mic stand as a present for the newsletter (Haiiro no ginka).”

Toshiya’s mic stand has followed his moves and acted with one heart and mind as they shared joys and sorrows together, and next to his bass, it has been a sub-partner existence. It has flown high during The IIID Empire (ex: hide memorial summit) and received Toshiya’s shouts during Agitated Screams of Maggots. Such an important possession will become a present from Toshiya’s sincere courtesy (Please look at the application page [応募ページ] for more information). Mr. Fujiki, the stage director and Manager Inoue could not hide their surprise when they heard Toshiya’s request. Even before the start of the show, this live was filled with air of hunger and crisis. The lights went out, the SE began from darkness, and the members appeared. The show began with this first voice:

“Tokyo――!!!”

Dozing Green began with a ground-shaking rhythm, and guitar riffs gushed out, making the place move along with the music. During Kodoku ni shisu, yueni kodoku, Kyo repeatedly kept saying “Love you,” and the entire place froze. “Love you, love you…” What is Kyo calling for…? These words are emotional yet, as they begin to lap over, they change into something lifeless. A mantra seemed to surround this space while the guitar painfully echoed, leaving an afterglow.

May29th - Shinkiba Studio Coast

As the show is about to start, the atmosphere of the venue began to change. Being the middle of the 3 days, the second day’s show was about to begin. Going downstairs towards the stage, the 5 members with intense ardor huddled up; it’s time. The first song was the new song, Glass Skin, and right after, Grief began. The set list had a smaller dynamic, and it had many medium heavy numbers. And as Kaoru expected, there was a different feeling and slight frustration that seemed strangely new. Due to this set up, Hydra 666 turned into a detonator. In real time, Kyo’s figure was shown through the special effect onto the backdrop, and it showed a subliminal world. Kyo got up onto the standing platform and raised both arms high in the air, and the audience responded by raising their arms, and screamed back “6! 6! 6! ” The 2 lapping figures of Kyo did not only make the audience, but the staff including the one doing the special effect impressed. It was indeed a stunning view. After finishing encore, Die had a clouded expression on his face, and he smashed the guitar head to the ground, stopped moving, and crouched on the floor for some time.

May 30th - Shinkiba Studio Coast

“It’s a fight between each one you and me.”

The last day has arrived. In Dir en grey’s lives, cozy relationships cease to exist. It is better to say that the members’ and audiences’ life energies collide into each other. During Ryoujoku no Ame, Kyo began to scratch his chest as if something has awakened inside of himself; it is difficult to put in words, but this sense of atmosphere began to eat away the entire space. Kyo uses his body to propose the “meaning of life,” and the depth of these words to the audience. Dead tree sings about human’s frailty, and from Kyo’s wound, the oozing blood mixed with sweat, trickled down to his abdomen. Kyo released everything of himself into this moment without any lies or deceit. Following this, Karasu started with Shinya’s pulse-beating rhythm together with the resonating guitar sounds that make you imagine of amplified spots. The backdrop sometimes had cracks that looked like streaks of lightning. These cracks increased, and when the countless fissures covered up the eye, Kyo got up onto the standing platform and got seated in a kneeling position (Zen meditation), and looked up at the sky. This view was frightening, and it would make a person shiver. There were no use of explosives or weapons, but a sensory fear ran loose. We now witnessed how the 5 members had finally gone into “some territory.” After the show was over, Kyo still had blood and sweat dripping down from his left chest.

Death Over Blindness took place parallel to the music production, and in actuality, the band would have wanted to focus on their song composition as their feelings of weariness, pressure, and impatience are beyond our imagination. However, for the members who have been distant since the last show near the end of 2007, the existence of stage has allowed them to seriously take on the audience that has great meaning, and perhaps they have been able to get new stimulations. In September, the mother body (Dir en grey) would reach its trimester and you will be able to feel the new life’s (new album) heartbeat. From the day of the Glass Skin single release, Tour 08 – The Rose Trims Again will begin. Would the band be able to find a clue in this tour for their 7^th album, Uroboros?

Raining season is near the end, and while the moist air covers the cloudy sky on this day of July, somewhere in Tokyo, the shooting for Glass Skin has begun. Last time for Dozing Green, many screens were set up at the shooting location, but this time, everything was done in the studio. Everything became CG footage, and there were no props or big sets; there was only blue screen that would process the image composition. This was not at a far location and the traveling time was short, but being in the same place for hours, it was a battle against the gradual tiring air circulating and barren background.

While Shinya’s drum set was getting set up, the staff team began to wrap white tape onto the silver parts of the frame of the drums. The basic color of this drum is white, the same with the bass and the surface of the snare that has no problem, but all the frameworks supporting the set is silver. Silver colors is like a mirror, and without taping, when you shoot the drum set, the blue will reflect and make the drum set look like it’s floating. All the artists who use a blue screen do this procedure, but for Visual Trap (Production Company) the amount of work they do is top notch for Dir en grey.

After 12pm, the members arrived. This shooting took place in the midst of their music production when they worked every day until early in the morning. We asked Die who was smoking at the lobby about how they were doing and he mumbled, “My hard disk memory inside my head is so full.” The five member’s desire for the extreme must have brought this suffering…

In the member’s room, Mr. Ohno who is in charge of costumes and Kaoru were discussing what he should wear. Mr. Yamaguchi who is in charge of make-up was observing the two and made a remark. “You look like a cool, modern-looking vagabond Tora-san!” (note: Tora-san is the main character from the Otoko wa Tsuraiyo series) Kaoru’s fashion was coordinated innovatively wearing everything black with black-framed glasses and sandals. Kaoru was trying on a hat, but in the end, he gave up wearing the hat and sandals, and wore his usual black boots and headed for the studio.

1:30pm

Shooting began. Kaoru was first, and a total of 6 cameras were set up left, right, up and down in the middle area in rows. First, the camera shot the member from the front. Because we were using blue screen the entire time, there weren’t anything striking about these photos, and the changes that happened during this shooting were difficult to express. However, using multiple cameras, changing camera angles and positions, and shooting various patterns would definitely result into low-key efforts and long hours. How were these shootings and procedures going to be compounded? After the first shoot, the staff began to composite the shots with the CG they had prepared beforehand. Many staff and Kaoru surrounded Mr. Kondo, the director, and waited nervously. Then, behind Kaoru, the background had a world of white painting spreading before their eyes. Even though this was a rough image, one cannot be amazed by its high quality, and the daily evolution of CG images.

3:00pm

Kaoru ->Die have finished and next was Toshiya’s turn. There was something different about Toshiya’s bass. The bass’ body was tattered up, and it was finished with a posh taste and looked like an aged vintage. The band members and staff all focused their attention the bass’ “broken” qualities. While the shooting continued, the taping for the drum set continued. The drum appeared as if everything was white all along. The schedule started to delay due to the adjustments of blue screen and the shoot, and various takes even though there was no actual moving of location.

4:30pm

Kyo’s shooting began where his top part of the body was bare, and he wore a a purple adidas jersey that had yellow stripes. This time, Kyo did not have a clip where he sings. This time, all 5 members did not shoot together, and they only had separate shootings. Kyo’s shooting was slightly different as he moved his body slowly along with the music you could barely hear. He tried looking up and down, spread his legs, and covered his face with his hands, and expressed himself through body language. At times, when there was the music playing in the studio, you could only hear Mr. Kondo’s direction.

After taping for 5 hours, Shinya’s drum set was finally ready, and it was set up at the blue screen. Checking the monitor, there were some parts that were still silver, and needed adjustments. For complete CG, this detailed work is extremely important. Afterwards, the music video shooting went on by positioning the camera, moving them, and shooting various shots. Each time, it was checked under the monitor for different angles and adjusted them. Mr. Kondo and the staff continued to check whether it was “all right or not” as the angle of the reflecting board (white board) could change the way the shot look. They even used a rotating platform to shoot the band members 360 degrees.

The date had changed and the time was now three in the morning as the grasses and trees were asleep. A thick clear acrylic board was laid down and the drum was being set up. Why a clear acrylic board? This is because we can shoot from beneath. Underneath the acrylic board, a rail was set up so that a pulley would move forward. No shoes were allowed on the acrylic board because although it’s thick, you can see through what’s beneath, that may make one cringe. The band members were amazed by the intricate structure of the acrylic board setting. Seeing the band member’s shoe sole was rather strange… Everyone began to finish one after another. Each time there was a loud applause from the site. Simultaneously, the drum set was getting broken down. All the taping neatly wrapped was getting ripped off. Last was Kyo who sat on top of a boxed cart to shoot him in a perched position, but on top of the acrylic board, he did not use the cart. In order to look like he is sitting on something, subtle leg opening and angle became important. Everyone stopped what they were doing and watched this shooting.

“Okay, that’s a wrap!”

After Mr. Kondo’s approval, the shooting finished. The clock’s needle now points near four in the morning. All the members were getting sleepy due to the long hours of music video shooting and music production. Outside, gusty rain was hitting the concrete ground. There was no time to remember about the shoot as the band members got into the bus and went off. After the main characters were gone from the studio, the staff quickly broke down their equipments.

As for the music video, what kind of image would lapse over their movements? Later on, the footage that was shot today combined with CG would be checked many times and be finished. We yearn for the entire picture.

Making of Artistic Photography- Glass Skin

While shooting a music video for Glass Skin, near the studio’s elevator hall, preparation for Glass Skin’s photo shoot began. Ms. Ogata was our camera woman. Her photos maintained a fragile part, a characteristic particular to females, and had a wild manly texture, which established a good reputation from the band members. The elevator hall used to be a normal place to stock big props and equipments for the studio. However, once everything was removed and the concrete floor was exposed and was ready for shooting, it became a lifeless space with roughness, which was extremely off the hook.

The shooting was in the order of Kaoru->Die->Toshiya->Shinya->Kyo. Of course, while the solo photo shooting took place, other members had to be in the next studio and work on the music video concurrently. Die changed his ambient atmosphere from the music video, and tied his hair back, and his exposed skin and expression stirred up even more sharpness. Kyo was shot standing, but he also took shots on a crouching position. His hat and sunglass made a good shadow, and his tattoo on his body stood out from darkness. All five members’ personalities were brought out, an austere elegance ran, and the photos were turning out well. After finishing solo shots, group shots began. Since this place was usually for a transportation company, if one was off from their position, the warning lamp would go on. When this went on, you couldn’t stop the red light reflecting into the photo. Everyone including the staff was careful not to go near the sensor. The width of the space was narrow, and it was difficult to decide on the best alignment for the 5 members. “A little up. A little to the right. Good, good, good…” Ms. Ogata instructed the assistant with the hand-held light. This place had a situation to adjust lighting and shadow, but it turned out to be a good work with atmosphere.

The photo shoot finished and everyone surrounded Ms. Ogata’s computer. The member and staff were looking with intense concentration. A few minutes later, everyone gave an approving look and the artist photography session ended. The photos shot on this day was given to the staff immediately, and later on, after the members looked over, the photos released right now were decided.

I got a call from Die during the middle of July when he must have been busy with recording. He asked me for my free days; he is a guy with adult’s manner. But you’re the one who is busy. So, we were able to meet at the end of July. The place was at a bar restaurant where Die went to eat frequently. This place was popular with stocks of many shochu (Japanese vodka) all over from Japan, and appetizers made by the young shopkeeper. Today, we ordered salad, special crab-cream croquette, and a soft fried burdock root as our appetizers, and while we relaxed, we began drinking.

Wow, it’s been a while. (Hasegawa)

Die: That’s true. I think it’s important to have this time sometimes. This place has good food. Have you ever been here? (Die)

I have. In the end, there was one musician and mentor who slept on top of the table (laugh).

Die: This place is changing into a hang-out place. This place is so good~.

But please drink 5% alcohol. I’m not letting you drink the 20% just yet. Well, cheers, Renaissance.

Die: What’s that (laugh)?

This is Hige-danshaku’s (Japanese comedians) signature phrase. But you haven’t been drinking because of recording right?

Die: I would go home and have one drink. I’ve been in the studio for a long time.

You had a tour in May, but did you spend the other hours on production?

Die: No, I took a break in January and February. I didn’t do anything music-related on January. From February I was in a music-making mode, so I didn’t go outside of home. I only went out drinking twice a month.

Song-making pressures you and forces you to develop ideas, so in a way, it becomes a battle against stress right?

Die: Yeah, you don’t know whether it’s good or bad. And you become concerned with something so detailed. Once you distance yourself from a song and listen again, it’s like what is this. Why did I spend so much time with this? Besides, it’s not good (laugh). Song-making is nothing but “against oneself.”

Did you have good ideas around February?

Die: Rather than idea, I had sounds I wanted to make. I would play the guitar with that thought, but if you make songs with this mentality, it’s not that good.

Oh, so you would have a goal, and it would only move forward in that direction, and nothing else comes up?

Die: If you try to actualize your idea, it becomes something you can find anywhere (laugh). When I’m playing around with my guitar and think I have a good phrase, I try to put that in. Then I begin to develop from there. If I do it this way, it’s easier to evolve in a good way. Imagining beforehand would make ideas fixed.

You yearn for unpredictability?

Die: Yes, yes.

When you have a fixed imagination, you would lose interest in your own work, but if you play guitar without any fixed ideas, do you come up with ideas beyond your imagination?

Die: Yes, yes, if I don’t pre-determine and play randomly, there’s a catalyst born in that moment. There may be 2 sounds, but if you put on an effect, they would sound interesting too. You can make that kind of idea. But where you’re recording, there are too many possibilities, and it’s difficult to decide. You can do it this way or that way, and want to try all of them, but in reality, you don’t have any time. There would be new sound by tuning your guitar differently, distorting acoustic guitar sounds, and think of those ways. At this point, the recordings for drums has finished, but there are so many songs that need decision on arranging or tone, so I’m thinking, for this song here, for that song there, and my mind is scattered everywhere. Every day, I’m always in this situation. It’s probably impossible for me to try out everything during this recording period.

“It’s probably impossible?” (laugh) But if you try to do everything, you won’t be able to finish your work.

Die: A person once said that you need common sense to decide. It’s important to have this common sense and be able to say this is it and choose quickly.

It’s nice to take time to create your work, but a work should be exposed to people’s eyes and ears or it won’t provide any significance of existence. Then, the listener’s feelings would be injected and have a new life born again.

Die: For significance of existence, the songs need to be performed live. So after making a song, I think the recording to completion shouldn’t take too long. We would get bored of it (laugh). The songs would become something without any stimulation (laugh).

Even if the actual people (band) would get bored, we (listeners) wouldn’t be, and not even have the chance to hear it (laugh).

Die: Well, that’s true.

I think it’s actually better to have deadlines.

Die: Because of deadlines we’re able to exert our power as if we’re at a fire site (laugh) [note: basically saying one can exert their full potential at desperate moments]. For The Marrow of a Bone, we mixed for 36 hours continuously. We kept listening, and we couldn’t make decisions. That was not good. You should decide after listening with rested ears, so I want to avoid mixing for 36 hours straight.

Engineer overseas record orderly and they never work overtime right. I think they work that way so that they make the right decisions.

Die: That’s partially true. But with Japan, it’s not just with music; there is a cultural aspect for Japanese to work hard. There’s diligence. For people overseas, I think that’s impractical. I think they’re more like we’re done today so let’s party kind of a rouse.

Are you half-way through your work right now?

Die: No, I’m finished with 90% of guitar packing. I’m using a re-amp method, so I’m recording my parts as much as I can, and then use another time to create sounds. I still have a lot of that left. So even if I finished recording my parts, I’m not done and I actually have more work to do.

Impressions of sounds change with tone too.

Die: Yes, yes. I’m just putting in the raw materials now. But I think this is a good way to be able to create sounds later. You can decide on the tone after all the guitar phrases are put in.

If you don’t re-amp, all the recorded sounds remain in the audio source.

Die: In that case, when a different guitar tone comes in after the first guitar part, the phrase you want people to hear recedes back. You won’t have that kind of problem with re-amp.

You definitely have intricate phrases for this one too right?

Die: Yeah, I’m building them up. I always wonder whether this recording will ever end. I’m in an opposite mode from last year when it was all touring. It’s hot summer right now, but without any sunlight, having air conditioner full blast at the recording studio, I’ve immersed myself in there. After we finish the album, we’re finally going outside.

With this weather, your skin is fair like Sonoko Suzuki. What are you some skin-lightening researcher (laugh)?

Die: Yeah (laugh). I haven’t been in the sunlight. The only time I feel the hot weather is for a few minutes when I go outside of my home to when I go inside the car. When I go inside the studio, I need to wear a jacket because it’s so cold.

Everyone must be jittery. Are you guys pretty tense?

Die: Not really. There’s Mr. Konish, our engineer, who isn’t like that, and it’s easy to tell from his mood. Rather, he makes these small-time jokes. Nothing but oyaji jokes (note: Oyaji refers to older men in their 40s and up; although it varies from people’s perception).

Then please tell us one of those jokes.

Die: I’m not oyaji. They’re Mr. Konishi’s oyaji jokes too (laugh). Anyways, I don’t feel too stressed.

Maybe your experience with long tours overseas changed your mindset?

-No, that and recording are totally different. Our staffs say that when we go overseas, our personalities change. When we return from overseas, we’ve become American-like or so. I have no idea what exactly changed though (laugh).

I think you guys aren’t too uptight anymore. Years ago, you guys had this presence that wouldn’t make people go near you. When you guys are on tour and recording, I think your private life becomes tense, and it’s hard to talk to you lightheartedly.

Die: Oh, I guess we do have that kind of change. We did shows with different circumstances and locations last year. We didn’t have any leeway, but we couldn’t be tense all the time. Once we go up on stage, then it’s all right to act that way. We should take a bigger stance.

I think you’ve changed when you’re on stage too. Before, you were stoic, and only the people who understood you figured out what you guys tried to do, but they would not raise their voice with excitement; they just kept to themselves.

Die: Yeah, I think there was that kind of feeling.

Now you guys are aggressive and make assertions. You stir up the fans too. That way, people watching you guys can jump into your shows.

Die: I think last year made a huge impact on us. With the number of lives and situations; we had 3 domestic tours, 2 US tours, and 2 European tours, and went on a total of 7 tours. With the US, we had a headlining tour and a supporting-act tour with Deftones. Headlining tour allows you to have your own space, but with support, you’re touring along with Deftones, so there was a team effort involved. At first we were unable to fit in. A lot of American staffs told us stuff. “Why do you do stage shows like that? It’s not appealing.” Stuff like that. For them, having an appealing element is important. “Why aren’t you trying to attract the audience whey you guys are an opening act?” But we’re not that type of band. We’ve been doing our way of stage and because of that we are who we are now. And then they (American staff, etc) would say, “No, that’s not what I mean. Don’t you guys have any MC?” Or “You only look down when you play your guitar; you’re not stirring up the audience at all.” People told these things to us the entire time. We had a discussion within the band, and rather than having any conclusion, each of us changed naturally. Our shows were completely different when you compare the beginning and the end of the Deftones tour.

That’s not an experience everyone has. It must have influenced you in some ways?

Die: I think we need to have a bigger view. Not “as Japanese” or “because we’re Japanese,” but be who we are no matter where we go.

By having this experience, you no longer have any adoration for overseas, and you don’t have any border lines right?

Die: Is it? I want to be able to show our stage and communicate in English when I go there.

Did confidence root in to you unconsciously?

Die: Well~ not really confidence. The mode is different for song-making and recording. I constantly have a sense of “this is seriously not good” when I can’t come up with anything.

How do you overcome self-resentment?

Die: You have to look at yourself broadly. When you look with a bigger view, some things become trivial. If you feel negative about yourself, it’s a small matter. If you think about life, you want to have a good one. In life, negativity is merely a page. It’s all right to have that page within life. In the end, you should be able to think, “I had a good life” before you die. This age and this time are trifling matters. There’s no need to feel extremely distressed. So if you look at yourself in a broad perspective, then it’s really nothing urgent. But you need to work hard moment to moment, or else you won’t be able to have good life ultimately.

That’s life philosophy right there. By the way Die-chan, you lost weight. Why?

Die: From this year up to the tour on May, I wanted to have a strenuous time over something. I wanted to do something I determined until I got up on stage. I wanted to be on stage after feeling pressured.

Sort of like a votive?

Die: Yep. It could have been anything, but I kind of decided of getting rid of all my body fat (laugh).

Why did you want to pressure yourself?

Die: Last year it was good to have many shows, but when we weren’t doing shows, we became really slack. I felt like being on stage was a given, but I knew that was not the way to think. There should be more depth for each live, each time we get up on stage. So I needed to pressure myself so that I motivate myself to make me yearn to go on stage. I actually wanted to improve my English, and that would have been better, but I’ll start on that once I finish making the album. So I really didn’t need to lose weight (laugh). I’ve witnessed the extreme too. I calculated calories, so during April, I didn’t eat any rice, but you really need sugar for your brain to work. I guess for Japanese, rice is necessary.

You sound like Hadaka no taisho (note: Originally refers to Kiyoshi Yamashita, a painter. Film and drama series were made based on his life) saying you like to eat rice balls (laugh).

Die: It’s true though. But when you write US in Japanese characters it’s 米国 (“rice” and “country”). Why is their main food bread (laugh)? Isn’t it the country of rice?

If you complain like that I think many bands would envy you.

Die: Would they? Lately many bands go overseas expectedly. But there aren’t too many people who witnessed the actual site. It’s really different from your imagination; we’ve received direct reactions. People would throw stuff at you and I think, “Wow, after doing this many lives we’re still not good enough.” People would throw crushed beer cans with ends sharpened, which fly into our stage, and we once had rocks thrown at us too. That was the time when we were at festivals. It was like that 2 years ago when we attended Rock am Ring where Korn, Deftones, and Guns and Roses were on the same stage. If we would try a medium-tempo song, a lot of stuff would get thrown onto the stage. And it was the World Cup period so these small soccer balls flew in (laugh). You can throw as many as you want; it won’t hurt or scratch me (laugh). When you’re with bands that have travelled around the world, there are many reactions. So you shouldn’t be swayed just because you toured once or twice in the US and Europe.

Ah, so you shouldn’t call yourself to be “going international” at this level?

Die: I wouldn’t really call it “going international” though (laugh). But I think that experience is very interesting. When you’re shot down, it actually becomes a motivation. This happened when we’ve been together for 10 years, so it felt like we can climb further together as a band.

You had this ridiculous amount of energy emerging like you did back in your debut?

Die: Yep, yep. You’re able to go without having any fear. I think that’s really important. You record, release an album, and go on tour; when this becomes a rotation, it’s difficult to maintain motivation. Your passion begins to disappear. You begin to wonder whether it’s right to repeat this process every year. We were about to go into that phase, but were given a place to feel inspiration, and the band was able to solidify again. I think 2006 to 2007 was really energetic. We also were able to accomplish many things. You need to have rough times.

Once you finish recording that would start again?

Die: Yes. The album after the one we’re making now is going to be way ahead. I think this means we’ll be doing a lot of shows. It’s coming up.

How are you like when you’re on stage?

Die: I can’t understand myself either; when I’m doing a live, I become so energized. I think that’s really natural for me. I want to play guitar in high spirits to the point where I’m about to lose control. I don’t want to be calm on stage. From the beginning, I want to feel carried away. I want to listen what’s around me and get on top, and lose control; this is what I enjoy these days.

You awaken from your own sounds?

Die: Yes, yes.

Did your votive bring changes during your tour in May?

Die: It was completely different. I felt joy to be able to go up on stage. It’s been a while since I felt that way. It actually felt refreshing.

Did your aesthesia sharpen?

Die: I guess so. And I also had this feeling of “I’m at my place.” There’s the audience, the SE begins, and once I was at my position, I felt like “This is the atmosphere. I’m finally here.” But then, a fan said, “Die-san you look languished; and sent sugar rice (note: snack?) to me as a present (laugh). I’m fine you know. .. Well, shouldn’t we start drinking the issho bottle (note: This is a glass bottle measurement. It’s equivalent to 1.8 liters/.476 gallons)? Let’s drink Kirishima.

You’re finally drinking Kirishima Die-chan? And you’re drinking it rock too. You’re drinking shochu like water, and the issho bottle is about to be empty. We’ve been drinking and being drunk for three and a half hours. You said you were all right, but I don’t think that’s the case. He (Die) kept shaking my hands and I thought my fingerprints were going to disappear. Afterwards, I left the restaurant.

Dr. Nemunemu no Daigyakusyu

This month’s Dr. Nemunemu has begun. Right now, I’m in the midst of recording the new album. One day, our studio was very close to Tokyo tower. Dr. Nemunemu visited Tokyo tower when he was 9 years old when he went on a family vacation; that was the first time. Later on, when he was 18, he went there for some magazine series. As people who live near Mount Fuji never climb the mountain, when you live in Tokyo, you don’t want to go to Tokyo tower. However, Tokyo tower has Noppon, mascot characters that have two brothers. They are twin brothers where the older brother wears a blue clothes and the younger one wears red clothes; and the older brother is showing very good character. I would like to quote from Tokyo tower’s message board how this character is.

•I went to Disneyland. Many characters were popular. Will Noppon plan to join them in the future?

Noppon: If the charismatic mouse pleads me to join, I will.

•Last week, I went to Tokyo tower for my birthday by myself. I was happy to see the older Noppon brother doing a celebration dance. I think I’ll come again alone next year. Older Noppon brother, thank you!

Noppon: Bring someone along with you next year…

So, this older Noppon brother makes these comments that are unlikely of an official Tokyo tower mascot.

Dr. Nemunemu was intrigued by Noppon for a while, so as a topic for my corner, I decided to search for Noppon. I first decided to buy tickets to go to the observatory, but since it was a Sunday, there was a long line. My high spirit fell immediately. I was about to leave when I could care less about Noppon until I saw this poster.

You can actually visit Noppon if you go to Foot town on the first floor. I decided to go there right away, and there he was! The younger Noppon brother! I didn’t expect to find him so easily, and I thought this would end my corner quickly this time, and began to look for older Noppon brother. However, he is nowhere to be found. I asked the person at the information center, but they didn’t know where he was. We looked for him on the other floors of Foot town. He is not found. The staff cameraman K-san had a laptop, so I asked him to go online and go into Tokyo tower’s message board and typed in, “We came here just to see you Noppon. Where are you?”

We waited for a while, but no response. Older Noppon brother is just as I expected. He ignored us.

While we were searching, on the fourth floor, I found a trick art gallery. Dr. Nemunemu loves trick art, so he went inside. Then, I found older Noppon brother!

When I looked closer, it was a trick art painted on the wall. I was tricked. But the trick art gallery was too small, and this was not enough. I need to go to a bigger gallery or else I won’t be satisfied.

Calming myself, I returned to the first floor of Foot town and thought that I needed to come back here and search for the older brother. In the end, I took a purikura (small photo stickers) that has Noppon inside the frame. As I was taking this photo by myself, outside the curtain, K-san was yelling, “The blue one is here!” I thought to myself, “really?” And when I went outside, the older Noppon brother appeared! He’s wearing weird clothes too.

I was glad to see the Noppon brothers.

Now, I would like to give my purikura to one person as a present. Dr. Nemunemu was not convinced with the size of the trick art gallery, so the next day, he went to a trick art gallery that was known for having may works; and headed for Takaoyama Trick Art Museum. I was very satisfied because there were so many works.

Aibiki no Mori

How are you? The newsletters proceed quickly, and we have released our 40^th volume. Time indeed passes very quickly. And our 7^th album Uroboros will be finished!! I want everyone to listen to this sound soon. I want as many people to listen to it. I am looking forward to it. Also, our tour will begin! This time, we will visit places we have never gone before, so I’m looking forward to them. I am willing to go to places where I’ve never been before. I want more people to watch our shows. We’ll be heading to the US and go into training! It’s intense, but there must be many things to gain. And once I digest everything, I would like to head to Osaka-jo Hall at the end of the year. Gansonaki Kaoru-ya

How are you guys? This is Kaoru who is exhausted but full of high spirit.

Today (I began writing this on 8/11) at 8am, I finally finished recording my guitar part, and feel relieved… But we’re now onto mixing. We still need to work on synthesizer and some parts we need to record and replace, but we need to keep because we seriously do not have any time. Five days later, we were no-where near finished with mixing…We might not make it. We slept over at the studio until the last day of mixing, and this time there was a feeling of being finished, but around noon… Koni-young’s Mac was acting strange and had to stop; we started this process again when there was only 18 hours left…

And 45 hours later, Die, Mr. Furuta, the director, and I went to NY for mastering. Until today, we have not been able to sleep for the last 2 weeks, and finished Uroboros. After we finished mastering and listened to the album from start to finish, my eyes became a little watery because all my memories of recording came back… We started making songs at the beginning of this year, and from March we got together, argued about the songs, tweaked them, and began preproduction. Around April, after the songs were ready, we recorded the rhythm parts, made another song and then another preproduction, and repeated that process. All the songs were ready just before July. After that, everyday was intense recording.

This past month, I seriously have not gone outside. It was really tough near the end, but I give my appreciation to all the staff who worked very hard! Because of you guys, we were able to make the most insane album!

And if this Uroboros resonates in your heart, that would be great. This work is packed with Dir en grey sound that is not trendy or obsolete. I would like you guys to listen to it carefully, and I hope it becomes an important part of you.

- After overcoming many oversea tours, I think you're changes have definitely started to show up. Before, it seemed like you were trying to hold in your feelings from coming out but since last year, those feelings seem to have started to go outwards.

Kyo: No, I think that hasn't changed much at all. My conscious isn't even focused on trying to convey these pains. I just do whatever I want so it's up to the people to come watch or listen. I think I'm more into the atmosphere now than a couple years ago. I don't think on stage as much as I used to and I just try to be myself, taking in the atmosphere of that place at that time and describe that with my voice. To me that's fun, and to get completely synchronized is challenging for me.

- When you challenge for these kind of shows, i think the reactions of oversea fans and people from places that have never seen you guys can become a motivation.

Kyo: No, I'm just doing it from myself. It depends on the places, whether it's Japan or overseas, but when people come and watch, I just want them to feel something from that, and if they don't it doesn't matter. It all just matters on how each person reacts to certain thing so it's no use try to explain to each person what they should feel. So I just let the fans be. But, I think the conditions in oversea tours are better than japan's.

- REALLY?! I heard that life on the road overseas is much more difficult than in Japan.

Kyo: If you look at Japan's as a standard, maybe it is hard, but over there it's normal. So I think it's stupid to say it's "difficult". I hate how the Japanese think that 20 shows in one month is a lot. Saying that is hard is weak. If you go to different countries, people don't have money to buy instruments and their equipment is beat up. But, still there are bands that scream, and if you look down there's a lot of people watching. I'm think those bands are much more great(sugoi). Knowing that, I don't want to say that touring in a bus with a bed for each of us or performing 20 shows in a month is hard. I don't even want to depend on that. That connects to a weakness and makes a hole in your heart. That's why on a day where there are no shows during a tour, I don't go out to look around, so I just stayed on the bus. I there to make a appearance on the stage and I just want to concentrate on that 100%. Other than that, I don't really care. As long as I can take a back/shower(laughs).

- So, it's how much you can polish yourself. When you are able to bring yourself through that, do you feel like you have achieved something?

Kyo: Not a achievement but a goal of not losing to yourself. Well, it's kind of weird to set up a goal. When I'm in a more difficult position, I'm able to perform better. The more difficult, more of a bad mood I'm in, it's a better show. I just want that "Today I was able to perform well in the show" feeling. That's the only reason why I push myself in a difficult position.

- So the explosion of your anger and negativeness is the description of yourself on stage.

Kyo: That's all I've hot. If I had something else I'm good at, I wouldn't do this much to myself. I can put 100% into this because this is all I have. I don't want to do something incomplete and regret either. In the past I was way too easy on myself. I hate how I used to be and if I can I want to delete that from my past. So I don't want that to build up anymore. Whatever I'm able to do, I do. And, if I have something I left undone or one thing is on my mind, my heart starts to hurt. Recently, I get these pains a lot. During recording, I get annoyed by a 1/8 sound gap and want to rerecord. The other members don't even know what I'm talking about, but to me, this causes a pain to my heart.(btw when he says heart, he literally means heart. its not the emotional, feeling heart)

- When you do that(rerecord if its off timing), do you think of yourself as a professional?

Kyo: No, that's not a professional. Say you have a artist you really like, and that person wants to get hyped up for the show. When you watch those kind of people on stage, you don't really get anything from them. It only seems "eh", when people sing sad songs professionally. The concert begins from the rehersal, not the actual show. If you go deeper, it starts from how you live. Including all that, nothing with lies and regret, I want to fill myself up with that.

- When you push yourself into a difficult position, for example the pain described in your lyrics, does a different feeling come up than what you intended when you wrote the song?

Kyo: I don't think the pain I mainly wrote about will never change. But when I'm able to get more into a song, new things are born or I get into a different world sometimes. That's when the lyrics or melody changes during shows. When I stand on stage, I feel that I'm losing unwanted things. I am challenging myself to only be able to represent myself with my body.

- I was informing that you guys are working on the album, but in the means of getting into songs, are shows and studio work different?

Kyo: There's a world in each song that you look into right? I think about how I can shape that, bring it to the closest of my image in my mind and how I can put my feelings into it. On top of that, something that no one else has done. When I am facing a new song in the studio, this is how I think. When I write new songs, I think about how they would turn out if we performed them in front of audiences, so you can only probably understand about 60-70% of the song on the CD. But then we make songs on the CD that can't be recreated on the stage. In that way, shows and recordings are different.

- The new song "GLASS SKIN" has already been performed live right? After you've performed it, were you able to see a more clear color of the song?

Kyo: Every time we perform it, I understand it better.

- I think that color isn't just one color, but many differ colors and tones. I think the emotions are all heading to one place.

Kyo: You might be right. Ever since "DOZING GREEN". The pain hasn't changed, but the how it comes to me is very different, and that changed the color and my expressions. I think the way the song is changes too.

- Is it from the experience that you've had in the past few years?

Kyo:Yea. My songs and lyrics doesn't mean music, but it's coming from what I naturally feel. If I can become a better person, my expressions changes. After each experience my thoughts cement more and more or more flexible. I think that's the biggest change inside me.

- Seems like you haven't done much communication on the road over there with other people. During that, I'm guessing that you were able to think a lot and polish yourself naturally.

Kyo: yea. But, not only overseas. I think a lot even if I'm in Japan. I sometimes hate how nice the conditions of the tour can be in Japan.I think May's tour had a tighter schedule than before but i think it can be harder. But I'm guessing there aren't that many people that understands me...(laughs)But I never bend my thoughts and think that I'm just being myself. Things like that gives me ideas for lyrics. Everything from my everyday life to my smallest thoughts comes out as lyrics.

- The second songs is "undecided" which was also played in some shows. There was a time when you guys wrote very aggressive songs but do you guys actually like more quiet, melodious songs?

Kyo: No, I actually don't like them that much(laughs). No, really. Its just, theres some songs that I really like. The second song was actually going to be a different accoustic song. And a live version of that. But there weren't any good takes on it so we asked if we can do "undecided". And we really had trouble choosing what to do for the unplugged song but I wanted to try a aggressive song. So I chose "ASOM". But then I couldn't make it to the piano recording so I didn't know where the first verse started and ended. I thought it was pretty interesting. And I wanted to give it my best shot at it and that's how it ended up.

-"ASOM" sounds like its gonna possess you.

Kyo: But I really like it. The image the song originally had really went together with the image and atmosphere the piano track had so I thought this could work. I finished the recording of these 3 songs in one day.

- You really need to be into these songs in order to sing these. But after listening to the first to songs, it sounds like you not liking slow songs sounds like a lie. And you've said before that you don't consider yourself as a vocalist but I think that's a lie too.

Kyo: No, it's not(laughs). I consider myself a voice-craftsman more than a singer. I can't really explain but I don't think of myself as a singer. A person who makes something with the voice. But in shows, I also use my body so I guess that's not it.

- I was just awed.

Kyo: Oh, I see. You know how people have some kind of habit when they sings? I've been trying to kill that since "Dozing Green" so I have a lot of fun. Actually it was really hard for me to set that rule while I was singing. But when I was able to overcome that, I was able to ask myself, "What kind of new world is this?". I didn't write another melodious song to make a part 2 of "DG". This may sound weird, but I think "GLASS SKIN" doesn't really have a catch. It's not like the chorus really hits on you and it's really hard to tell if it's actually there or not. But that's whats good about it. We've never had this smooth sound, and I thought it was really cool. I wanted it to be a song where you can listen to it over and over. I've been in that mode since "DG". "DG" also doesn't have a chorus that just comes at you. You know, anyone can make a song like "OK heres the chorus, listen to it." I don't mind listening to it, but making it on my own...it's no fun.

- Does the album have the new approach?

Kyo: Some of it yes. Some of it I did it on purpose. We've really emphasized that we wanted to make songs that doesn't exist anywhere. It's hard to say "it sounds like...". I'm guessing theres a lot of people imagining how the album might sound based on "DG" and "GS". We'll go past satisfying you and take you to a further level. At this point, we have something that brings this much confidence.

- Do you aim for a different place for your emotions in the lyrics?

Kyo: Some songs, I've written based on how it sounds and some go even deeper than "DG" or "GS"

- The better you get, the more higher the hurdle gets to get into these songs?

Kyo:yea

- Do you have any goals built from how much you've grown?

Kyo: No. The closer I get to the image of myself I want to be, the further I want to go. So I'm basically chasing myself eternally. But I do see where I want to go. It just keeps moving. I think it's "how far I can go with this body". It's easy to just make things from looking at examples or relying on things. But it's to start with a blank sheet of paper. My goal is to keep on doing that and making more amazing things. More like what I want than a goal.

- You might end up becoming more flexible.

Kyo: The more I push myself I question myself, "What is strength?"Overcoming what you think it the hardest thing in your life, I think, is the strongest thing. I think that thought is making up the core in me. And for a long time, if something really annoying happened, I really hated it. That's where it ended. If you can forgive that, it's really hard but, if you were able to forgive that, that would be really strong. I want that strength. "GS"'s lyrics looks like a love song but it's nothing like that. It actually about environmental problems. I didn't want to write what right or wrong...well it's kind of hard to get that but.

- There's a message beyond the lyrics?

Kyo:Yea. I wanted to tell that i want to make a change, that something crazy is happening. I'm not trying to make society a good place but there's standards for certain things right? I'm not set up to the standards so maybe that's why I'm mad everyday. I want to lose that. I ask if anything is going to happen if I sacrifice myself. That's where my anger comes from sometimes. That's that difference before "DG" and now. Exploding with angers a easy thing to do. But I'm trying to obtain strength from taking in things. That's the me nowadays.

Dir en Grey - Barks interview - Glass Skin

After the national tour(in japan) that ended in may, dir en grey has been in a underground state and is heading for a new direction. To begin their new step in their new direction, the new single " GLASS SKIN" is going to be release on sept 10 along with the start of TOUR08 THE ROSE TRIMS AGAIN. And in Nov their new album "Uroboros"will be released. We will ask more about the album next time, but first we will like to present you with the interview about their new upcoming single.

Now it has not been confirmed during the time of this interview but, singles "DOZING GREEN" and "GLASS SKIN" are going to be on their new album but in a different version rewritten with english lyrics. So if you want to listen to GLASS SKIN just the way it was born, you should go out and buy the single(or liten to it on youtube :)) Now I warn you that none of you should wait until the album come out to listen to the single for your own good.

- Now this new single "GLASS SKIN", 11 months since the release of "DOZING GREEN", has been played in the tour back in May, correct?

Kyo: Yes. But, honestly i dont remember anything.

- What do you mean?

Kyo: My memories that deal with that tour is completely gone. I think it was THE best tour i've ever done, and that tour felt like it was still going on until yesterday, but right after my head was filled with working on the album and basically i'm just a person who doesn't look back to the past(laughs). But even in the songs first stages, i felt it was a "easy song to get into". Except, as easy as it is, the taste of the song changes should change easily too.

Toshiya: From the players point of view, it's a fun song to play. There isn't really a speacial element or dramatic change to it, and because it's a simple song, i think thats what make it speacial. I can really face this song naturally.

- This song would be considered a very mellow song for DEG, correct? This may sound weird but kind of backstabbing people expectations?

Toshiya: No, actually this song was made naturally. We weren't really writing to release it as a single.

Shinya: When we needed to choose a song to release, we had an opportunity to bring all of our ideas together. At that point, this song wasn't really complete to the point where you can actually call it a song but we all agreed on making this song.

Toshiya: When we thought this might be a pretty good song, we didn't think of backstabbing anybody but we were really able to work on it normally. Well theres actually theres time when its just hard to make a song naturally(laughs) but, this time I think we were really able to focus on it naturally.

Kyo: We don't have that feeling now where you think "Maybe it might be new to release this"or "Maybe we should venture to make a song that doesn't sound like a single". Simply, we just wrote what we wanted right now, if we thought we've completed something where you can feel a fresh atmosphere we should release it. Really, that's all there is to it.

- Can we think of the title "GLASS SKIN" sculpting a image of something fragile and empty?

Kyo: Yes. Something easy to break. In a human. If I were to explain as minimal as possible, the theme i sing about is, about environmental issues. Not a love song. Well, I'm not gonna give away too much(laughs). I don't like it when things get too lecture-ish(is there a word for that?lol).

Shinya: I think the title, explains the atmosphere of the song.

- In this single, the B-sides songs are also very solid. First of all, the new version of a song in the 2002 album "KISOU", undecided. And "ASOM-UNPLUGGED-" recorded only with piano and voice. And in the limited edition, the live recording of "RYOUJOKU NO AME"

Toshiya: for "undecided" we've had some opportunities to play it unplugged back in 2007 shows. This idea is just simply, "If we play an old song now, this is what it would sound like". Recording this song was actually very troubling, although it sounds simple on the record(laughs).

Shinya: As for the live recording, as long as there isnt any noticeable mistakes, theres no problem. There isn't much to comment onf that, but we just wanted something new.

- Any comments for the shocking "ASOMU"?

Toshiya: One word, sugoi (laughs)

Kyo: Just listen to them. People that have already keep asking the same question. "How did you record this?"(laughs)

- and that's...top secret?

Kyo: yes (laughs)

- So, you are preparing for the new releases and the tour

Toshiya: Honestly, i don't think i can switch into tour mode until a day or two before it starts. This means that we've got to finish up the all but...(laughs)i'm looking forward to it.Including Novembers America Tour

Kyo: I think we were able to make something new for us, and something that you would not find anywhere else in the world, so yea, look forward to it.
